Whisky Reviews for Tropical Trudy 2007 ANHA

    Good Name, Tropical Trudy;
indeed beautiful fruits, the ripe bananas that cited a pre-poster meet it very well. Tender smoke - I would almost certainly accept a Caol Ila, but not a brutal biter. Water is not really necessary, but some droplets are OK.
Nice malt, very fine nose, medium body, drinks well! (Tasting 07Dec2018 in Vienna)

A beautiful Everyday Malt, but unfortunately not anymore.
    • Nose
The peat smoke is very pleasantly integrated. Reminiscent of a chilling fireplace. The malt is very fruity. Here bananas and pears in particular come to light. There is also a floral, floral note to smell. Then there is an enormous vanilla and honey sweetness to the fore.
    • Taste
The sweetie stays. The smoke too. There are influences of coconut and bananas to taste. However, the alcohol is not as well integrated as the nose promises.
    • Finish
The finish is pleasant, but it fades away relatively quickly.

In the nose absolutely top, lush fruity, tropical meets very well, taste and finish are also very individual, mainly spicy, but not stunning. I can not find a special influence from the rum finish.
    • Nose
Bananas, peat smoke, coconut, bounty bars, vanilla pods, vanilla pudding, dark yellow, mushy mango, soft, pickled pear, the smoke continues to fade into the background, with water first a slightly musty note, shortbread and nougat
    • Taste
creamy consistency, very malty, and less sweet and fruity, lots of wood and smoke with increasing intensity
    • Finish
a bit bitter herbs, sourdough, gingerbread, curry, on the other side sweetish, but not really rumartig, smoke comes afterwards, medium long

Conclusion: 91/100 points "wow, what a fruity whisky". The Tropical Trudy convinces with an amazing fruitiness and syrupy consistency with a pleasing honey sweetness. Whoever has it at home, can be lucky. I am sure now 2..3 bottles for bad times ..
    • Nose
Slightly smoky, but only subliminal. It dominates a fruit basket of exotic, ripe fruits such as mango, pineapple, banana and some lychee. But also in honey tangerine and in the back some smoke and vanilla.
    • Taste
Wonderfully oily mouthfeel, very mild for 51.2% alcohol. You immediately taste some smoke (smoked bacon) and then comes the full load of sweet, tropical fruits. The whisky slides down the throat like syrup and warms up to the stomach.
    • Finish
What remains is a medium to long smoky mouthfeel full of wood and overripe fruits like banana and some white pepper.

First a slight smell of an extinguished log fire. Always present, but somehow pleasantly unobtrusive. Then slowly but steadily an exotic fruit basket comes into the nose. Very exotic, very tasty.
In the mouth first the fruits, then only after some time again this burnt wood. The 51.2% harmonize with the taste. I do not know if I should add some water. As Trudy comes along, it fits.
On the finish medium to long "reverberation" of the smoke.
