I need to recalibrate my score here. I’ve gone through a bottle and a half of this stuff and it’s great, solid Glendronach, but it’s not among the best. Having it beside Glendronach 1993 (87894) 23 year old and it’s not at the same level of quality, sorry to say. It’s still very good though and worth it at the price I paid ($230). The thing now as well is that a good sherry bomb in 2019 is not overly common, making this a good deal in current times.
It’s a little dank (rotting fruits), juicy, buy dry Oloroso. Dark chocolate, orange, cherry, blueberry. Vanilla.
Picks up here. Spices build - ginger powder, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamom, black pepper. Dankness goes away and dried fruits come out - blueberry, cherry, prune, fig. Dryness Ramps up - leather, espresso, tobacco
Good length, spicy - ginger, chili flakes, pepper. Dark chocolate, leather, black tea, prune, dates.
