Very nice, interesting sample. I want such a whisky in my bar!
    • Nose
Light, dry, with a high content of hot spices, vanilla, oak bark, dried berries, with a hint of smoke.
    • Taste
Nibbling, sweet, with a noticeable proportion of shades of dried fruits (prunes, raisins). I feel pepper and salt.
    • Finish
Delicate. Smoked notes, salt, hot pepper come to the fore. Then tones of celery and gooseberries appear. At the end, the aftertaste gradually fades away with smoky, brackish echoes.

N: Some cream [from the cask] and a little TTW with dried lime pieces.
T: It reaches quite deep into dank wood with bourbon & sherry cask notes combined.
F: Chocolate and plastic notes like clingfilm & candle wax.
C: Good, deep stuff - and after that good ole’ Talisker too WB.

I tried this cask at a tasting in October 2015, where I truly got to know Armorik and basically fell in love with the whisky. It is with great pleasure that I return to this particular single cask, which can still be found in some places.
Wonderfully candied nose with Sirop de Liège, honey, fresh mushruums (not an offnote!), red apples, cherries, sugared orange rind and chocolate cake, upholstered with some cloves and liquorice.
It caresses the palate with more of the same, but joined by candied sugar. Midpalate it offers a surprisingly salty note, but the sweetness quickly takes back the reigns. Toffee emerges. Don’t you dare add water, now, for it absolutely does not need it.
Elegant finish, wonderfully long, on cloves and Seville oranges. It leaves the mouth dry.
This is one of the best I have tried from the Warenghem distillery in Lannion. Around 85 EUR. Recommended.

    • Nose
Fruity (apples, cherries, oranges), marmalade, caramel, toffee, sweet
    • Taste
Fruity (apples, cherries, oranges), toffee, caramel, chocolate
    • Finish
      Medium long, sweet, oaky

  6. Kantenmechaniker scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

With a little water much more pleasant, the best tried Armorik so far
    • Nose
inconspicuous, light lemon, musty, sherry, water opens the nose, leather and much more sherry
    • Taste
Poor in the beginning, very intense, noticeable oak, fruity, sherry, water helps here too, much better, espresso, no longer spicy
    • Finish
Very dry, grape skin, also here with water more pleasant
