A dream drop! The nose starts fruity, pleasantly smoky and peaty. In the taste, dark and smoky wood tones dominate, ash rises and ends peppery on the tongue. Complex and multi-layered, this malt suggests an old age, full of character this filling invites me to dream. A great malt, I like it very much!

    • Nose
Old straw shines in the Premium Snifter, long and oily drops are released from the streaks adhering to the glass wall. Fruity smoke rises, mineral peat exudes its lovely aroma, delicate maritime notes appear in combination with sweet fruit. After a few moments, the smoky and peaty aromas withdraw, sweet apricots and peaches come into their own. Tart berries and a hint of citrus fruit appear minimally, otherwise only sweet fruit aromas such as oranges, peaches, apricots, raisins and dates dominate. A little chocolate and caramel dissolve from the fine fruity nose, spicy wood tones flash. The alcohol is wonderfully integrated, slowly my salivation is stimulated.
    • Taste
Tart wood and fruit aromas dominate the first sip. Cold smoke and burnt wood elements move into the foreground, citrus fruits and a hint of black pepper are released from the dark aromas. Cold espresso drips from the tongue, salty liquorice appears. Dark walnuts mix with tart and spicy wood tones. With the second sip, the acidic aroma of citrus fruits intensifies, especially unripe grapefruit crystallizes out. A hint of ash is released from burnt pieces of wood, oily, heavy and dark, the smoky peat and smoky grain notes come into play again. Every little sip is creamy and oily on the palate, on the tongue concentrates peppery sharpness and makes the tip of the tongue glow. Voluminous and delicately bitter taste and aftertaste blur.
    • Finish
Smoky peat flavors and tart fruit elements stick to the palate dark and heavy. Chubby warmth floods the mouth, chocolate, caramel and sweet fruit appear again and again. Fly ash is spread with citrus fruits on the tongue, the voluminous aftertaste slowly fades away. Oily and greasy walnuts and burnt wood appear again, with a tart fruit note the aftertaste slowly fades away.
