http://kaypingers-whiskyblog.de/frontend/fullarticle.php?id=242 Color: Old Gold / Amber
Nose: Sweet malt with honey and light peat swaths with suppressed smoke. Dry leather, subtle aromas of wild berries, tart orange and little spice. Overall quite thin.
Taste: very thin! Barely perceptible and heavily diluted peat-smoke combination with low seasoning. In the second part he develops a little better - pepper, herbs, dried fruits and orange peel with a slightly sweet liqueur and hints of wood. Everything again more than thin.
Finish: short! Milder and sweeter. Emerging caramel notes push the fruit components into the background. Slightly smoky with some white chocolate and cocoa powder.
Remark: Altogether too thin! The little bit of what's in this malt is not that bad. We would have liked to try it in cask strength.
    81 points (nose: 83 / taste: 77 / finish: 84)

Colour: Dark Amber. Too dark to just be E150a

    Body: Medium

Nose: Incredibly sweet, tonnes of fruit- Spiced orange, mango, banana, cinnamon. Candy- Lots of bubblegum, strawberry laces, cola bottles, Haribo. A tiny wisp of peat smoke, tyre rubber, bandages, old copper coins.

Taste: Soft arrival, copper coins, quite metallic, a little smoke developing, some spiced fruitiness throughout with orange, banana and mango. Cinnamon and ginger with oak going into the finish. A little thin on the mouthfeel.

Finish: Medium length. Oak and Sherried spice.

Notes: I think it's Laphroaig but the Sherry and oak is quite strong. Quite unbalanced taste, esp. into the finish.

I do understand the rating, but if you take the price, place and age in account this would be a high 80 to beginning 90 dram.

If this were filled to a higher percentage, it would really have a beautiful whisky.
