Aroma: an abundance of malt shades - dry grain, flour, fresh bread, vanilla baked goods, then burnt caramel, honey, candied fruit platter, bark, furniture-lacquer tones, plywood, walnut shells, slightly pine needles.
Taste: bright, sweet-caramel, various spices, ginger, red pepper, burnt caramel, boiled condensed milk, astringent tannins, an abundance of wood leaving in a pleasant bitterness.
Finish: fading sweetness, caramel, honey turning into woody, varnish and herbal motifs, a little spice, walnut, slightly longer than average.
Bottom line: dense, rich, rectilinear spaceide, with an abundance of oak, a little lack of variety, probably, but all the components are organically interwoven. Cool fortress, which is very useful here, will not leave indifferent fans of bourbon aging and those who like a lot of wood in the whisky profile.
