Whisky Reviews for Littlemill 1992 RS

4 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 88.18 points

  1. Kantenmechaniker scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

I thoroughly enjoyed it. The wine gave a nice sweetness without completely overlaying the littlemill.
    • Nose
very floral, grassy, flower meadow, above it a honey sweetness, sweet apricot, it gets better with time, a little honeydew melon, tobacco, it gets darker, denser, with the melon still dominating, a little wax, raisins, grape must, it is always sweeter over time, now there are also roasted nuts, a minimal hint of sulfur, maggot herb, none of these are dominant notes, but they contribute to the overall picture, very complex and changeable, I didn't like it at all in the first few minutes, now I think him great
a little fresher after the first sip, now there is a hint of mint over everything
    • Taste
not so viscous in the mouth, but creamy, starts here also floral, sweet flower meadow, grassy, honey, white chocolate, grapes, raisins or rather sultanas, a little salt on the tip of the tongue, then there is some oak on the palate, with the second sip also clearly dark chocolate, great mouthfeel with decent intensity
    • Finish
very sweet in the back, mandarin juice, but also something grave, now also nutty, very pleasant, medium length

  2. Segens scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

The finish has a decent bitterness that is a bit woody otherwise I would have even given 91/92 points.
Great nose and taste is very yummy which shows a lot of chocolate, espresso, some dark fruits, plums, honey, decent citric note, raisins... The full sherry palate
There is not a lot of Littlemill left as the cask overruns it but as the cask was simply great I do not regret it too much :-)

Conclusion: 91/100 points - "Chocolate Cola Dram". A 22-year-old Littlemill is something special anyway, then with this deep-dark cola color and a finish in Trockenbeerenauslese-Fass by Markus Molitor. That raises high expectations. Unfortunately, the small mill can not quite do it justice. There are far fewer sweet and fruity aromas than I expected from the TBA Cask. But this whisky is almost like liquid chocolate. Very interesting and quite delicious - I just expected something else. Should you have tried! The color is awesome anyway! Link to the tasting on my blog: http://www.tasting-notes.de/Archive/165
    • Nose
The almost black Littlemill offers intense notes of dark chocolate, at least 80%. Caramel and mocha, followed by some fruitiness of overripe raisins and plums. With water, rounder, sweeter and chocolatier.
    • Taste
Dark, fine-bitter chocolate pure. A subtle sweetness of overripe, dark fruits. Something bitter, wet oak. Something malty sweetness and liquorice with water.
    • Finish
Fairly long, fine tart finish with intense chocolate and bitter mocha. Slight fruit notes of overripe plums. Some wood in the background.
