The first thing that comes to mind is the astounding balance that is accomplished. The fiery smoke and bold spices definitely stay in check and do not overpower. In stead the room these two leave is filled with beautiful aromatic flavours that balance the whole with their freshness. The mix of flavours develop beautifully in the glass and on the tongue, and remain entangled far into the finish. The only slightly negative point for me would be the caramel colouring. The price, however, is a give-away for the quality that is delivered. All in all, a whisky worthy of a place in the collection of any whisky aficionado!

Directly, I encounter fresh salt and salty fudge, then freshly sawn pinewood. The peat starts to develop in a clear way but also kinda mellow, as if it is slowly but decisively filling my nose. What follows can best be described as earthy, in fact, the wet earth you smell on an autumn morning with damp rising from the ground. In combination with a fresh-lit wood fire, fresh tobacco and cigars. Before the smoke can overwhelm you, a fresh and sweet fruitiness calmly appears with fresh pears, sweet apples, sugared citrus and grapefruit. Water particularly unlocks the fruitiness. In addition, a slightly acidic backbone is present, think of unripe banana, just opened orange parts, orange jam, ginger jam, and marmalade. In between these smoky and fruity flanks, threads of sweet spice are spun. Spiced honey and spiced fruit, a peculiar black-peppered sweetness, and some salty cashew nuts. Everything appears beautifully orchestrated.

The moment the liquid rolls onto your tongue, you become aware of the smoke that gives a prickling and spicy sensation, in particular cracking black pepper and a teaspoon of nutmeg. After the first waves, the smoke is enriched with notes of leather, wax, furnished wood, along with some some medicinal tones. When the smoke recedes, fruity flavours come forward with poached pears, fresh apples, lime skin, sweet citrus, and prickling Fanta. The smoke reappears with additional notes, like fresh earth, champignons, cardboard, and becomes slightly dusty. The full balance is enhanced with notes of honey, toffee and nuts. In the long finish the smokiness goes for a full return, embracing the smooth fruity flavours.

Talisker 10 always works, in every situation. One of the better standards.

the smoke is not really intrusive, the first thing I notice is the typical mild pungency and pepperiness that Talisker likes to attribute to it, plus caramel, which is quite creamy, with light sweetness, some salt, sea breeze, sour yellow fruit

full-bodied and very sweet, here too the smoke rather reserved, ripe peach, also here the chilli-catch, in the back he becomes stronger, some oak, vanilla, the mouthfeel is totally juicy,

a lot of peach, light smoke, now some salt, a slight tingling and pulling on the tongue, warming

Wonderful whisky for its 10 years, with not so much variety of flavors and flavors creates the impression of deep, kaleidoscopic, multifaceted; excellent balance, excellent pitchnost, bright memorable character. (alas, the next version was weaker).
    • Nose
Amazingly refreshing resin, sea, a little smoke and ash, in the background something sour-fruity - everything is mixed like in a kaleidoscope, then one other tone comes to the fore - perfectly.
    • Taste
Explosion of spices, pepper, citrus notes, grapefruit, dried fruits, nuts. Slightly loses flavor.
    • Finish
Warm, peppery against the background of sweet and sour fruit and burnt sugar, long. A worthy continuation of the aroma in strength and balance.

    • Nose
Strong start. Pleasant smoke. Sea breeze. Fruity behind the smoke. Strawberries or grapes. But also oak.
    • Taste
Strong, spicy impression. A lot of oak. Slightly sour-vinous grape note. No sweetie.
    • Finish
Long and warm. Smoke rises from the throat over the palate.

Not an overly complex one but very tasty nonetheless. The only Isle of Skye single malt never disappoints.
    • Nose
Heavy and bonfire smoky but also zingy, like lime zest. The proximity to the sea results in a brininess. It's also very woody on the nose and also a black pepper is present. Although the peat is obviously present, I find this one to be rather smoky than peaty.
    • Taste
Very woody to the taste. Black pepper and American oak come to mind. Some sweetness, that was lacking in the nose, peeks through. Fruitiness like from raisins and cranberries. However, still smoky!
    • Finish
A sharp but warm finish for this one. Woody and briny.

Truly a classic malt. Distinct and recognizable in both nose and taste. Very enjoyable and a perennial favorite.
    • Nose
The prototypical maritime nose. The elements in the nose really do combine to give a distinct sense of a tangy seashore. Moderate peat with a mineral, briny note. Raisins, pineapple, orange zest and lemongrass. A hint of ginger and anise.
    • Taste
Starts off spicy sweet with apple, cucumber and black pepper. Rapidly turns more mineral and gingery with some peat and a hint of pineapple. Towards the finish increasingly spicy with notes of anise and sweet chili.
    • Finish
The peat really manifests itself in the finish, where it is quite distinct. The finish is long, salty and warming, with anise, sea salt, sweet chili and a little pineapple.
