Whisky Reviews for The Antiquary 21-year-old

- Antiquary 21 yo 43%. I think this is an old sample - came from a whisky shop that specialises in the old stuff. Aroma reminds me of Japanese whisky. Mango, cut apple, a touch of furniture polish, some marshmallow. Nice aroma. Banoffee and fudge later ... nice clean ex-bourbon casks here. Taste has some punch to it up front and it's certainly not grain-led. Some complexity of salt, oak and spice - not too much of any of those things. Nice weight and nice balance, and not underpowered as some blends can be. Touch of peat. Bread crusts. It's a good blend without doubt.
