Another great, although US, drink for whisky lovers.
Very fruity with a lot of smoke and peat. A pleasant toffee is made from the beginning to the very end to turn into a rum accent in the finish. Alcohol, despite the fact that its power is 54.1%, perfectly hidden, imperceptible.
    • Nose
wet moss, plum, toffee, sugar syrup in the background a small balloon
    • Taste
quite sweet, sweet, toffee, traces of oak, lemon peel, a lot of peat
    • Finish
      long, spicy, smoky, rum

Nice balanced peated sherry dram.. the young age is well hidden here, for its price this is a bang for your buck
    • Nose
Beautiful smoke, with delicious sherry notes in the background, there is depth of seaweed and other saltiness,
    • Taste
Yes.. peat.. but also sherry! Figs dates and raisins and chocolate.
    • Finish
This one lasts a long time with the flavors of sherry, chocolate, figs, dates, raisins

Very tasty smoker, nice mixture of aromas, pleases quite well and has a good PLV. I would recommend.
    • Nose
      84 84
Smoky, sweet with sherry, spicy, citrus and dried fruit
    • Taste
      84 84
Smoky with sherry, spicy with fig and vanilla
    • Finish
      88 88
Smoky, with sherry, sweet with chocolate and caramel, spicy oak

  11. Pyromann scored this whisky 83 points Expert Senior

Slightly smoky sherry whisky, the sweetness of the board definitely dominates, and the smoke rather envelops it in a smoky haze and roughens. She is nice, but in direct comparison with Big Peat Xmas 2014, this one is one class lower. Against him is simpler and sometimes unnecessarily sharp.
    • Nose
Artificial, caramel sweetness, tinged with sharpness and peppery roughness. Overall, it is rather sweeter.
    • Taste
Sweetness like chocolate, sometimes like sherry. Dense, heavier in taste.
    • Finish
Sweeter, faintly smoked. But smokiness and peat hold on for some time and pass into salt. Medium length.

    83. Drink to drink.
Nose: light softness, wine shade, citrus, smoke, raisins, cream
Taste: already better ... smoked meat, burnt wood, varnish, wine flavor
    Finish: Weak

peaty, some smoke, some ashes, there is some sherry, but that fades away quickley. bitter notes, ABV does not really fit in well. finish too short. Not sure what happened there, started fine and finished not so well

Not as beastly as the name suggests, more gentle and heavy smokers. However, the Carakter is idiosyncratic, unusual, but delicious. You do not have that often. I would be interested to know which distillery is behind it. I can hardly imagine Islay.
    • Nose
Baconous smoke in the nose, sweet notes, rather subtle sherry, a touch of cardboard is also there, some cowshed, etas fruit. An unusual smoker, not too intense peat, rather a musty, musty.
    • Taste
In the mouth quite salty, slightly bitter, woody, lighter fruit notes, surprisingly little sherry.
    • Finish
The finish is then again peaty, ashen, slightly musty, a sweet sherry note is and tart oak notes, some leather and tobacco complete the whole.

Great combination of spiced Speyside and peat! Flavor is smoky, peated, medicine (bandages), creosote, little bit glue and spicy (pepper, curry). Taste is rich, spirit of vine is sensible. Taste has notes of spices, vanilla, sweet fruits, grapes, currants and of course smoke, peat and medicine bandages. Finish keeps all elements of taste and is very stable and long.

Price-performance ? Well, he does not have any age! Who reads Pedro Ximenez Finsish and expects a smoke sherry bomb will not come at his expense.
    • Nose
Smoked bacon with lemon juice. Vanilla -Marzipan Confectionery Mango -Kiwi Mandarin Oranges -Hungberries
    • Taste
nice creamy and oily on the tongue Sweetness and dryness alternate. But the sweetness then wins clearly. The alcohol is barely noticeable, the age is difficult to estimate. But beautiful discreet wood is felt.
    • Finish
      Dry medium long

    84 / 100
    • Nose
Peat, rather intense, sherry notes, cake, toffee, fresh and fruity, plum, then notes sweet and something wet, wet branches
    • Taste
Oakiness,  dried plums, gentle peat, and so big, fresh made frosting, gingerbread, rubber
    • Finish
Long, spicy, with notes of citrus and wood

what a beast of a whisky, hehe :-)

not a dram to start with, but when you want to have a big ass peat and sherry punch this beast is your friend!

Received as a small 5cl sample and had no expectation. Have probably the best moment to try, because this bottling was in every respect a very nice, positive surprise. Very clear, beautiful maritime notes, in contrast to some prescribers no sharpness and the only slightly noticeable metallic impressions very well hidden by the actually noticeable sherry barrel influence. Alcohol very well integrated for the young age. Rum raisins and a delicate hint of lavender and some coffee, all accompanied by beautiful, ashen smoke. Sounds more strange than it was, the impression was as I said strong positive surprise, which, however, could have had to do with a low expectation.

  30. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

Tasty, interesting and priced fairly fair with 45-50 €, but I liked personally since the Classic of Islay a little better.
    • Nose
young, phenolic smoke with salt, brackish water, washed-up water plants, with sugary sweetness, dried fruit, rum
    • Taste
again this sugary, rumähnliche sweetness, raisins, quite spicy, almost a bit metallic, vegetable-bitter smoke ... overall very strong and snappy, the monster
    • Finish
long, smoky, some burnt sugar, rum, pepper

  31. fhomi67 scored this whisky 88 points Expert Junior

    • Nose
Caramelized smoke, slightly burnt sugar, some smoker, strong smoke with light phenolic parts, sweetish fruit notes, cooked fruit compote, later sweetish phenolic notes, and again and again smoke.
    • Taste
sweet and fruity, sugar and caramel, then slowly smoke, when swallowing then a smoke explosion, caramelized and flamed oranges.
    • Finish
Smoke, charcoal and ash, plus an extreme sweetness, slightly fruity notes, caramel and then suddenly again phenolic smoke, remains for a while, in the end also a hint of salt.
