N: Clotted cream and vanilla toffee - still soft & cooking before being poured out to set. Some top of the milk cream, some cut grass, clay malt and sour-dough pancakes. Not far off a pleasing Inchgower, in profile and in the fact that everytime i come back to this it makes me smile.

T: This is really strong stuff with more malty/creamy notes from the nose. Theres a huge pepperiness regardless of water added. Fortunately time resolves the heat issue in the main which coincides with the appearance of soft rubbery notes. Later still, theres quite some dry herbal: rosemary, thyme etc., and onion seeds.

F: The rubber=malt remains with a little bitter astringency and fresher with natural liquorice wood.

C: The energy of this Tullibardine is akin to a sports car whizzing around country lanes. Its constantly changing up and down the gears with plenty of accelerations and injections en-route. Rather exhausting and yet exhilarating at the same time.

    Scores a C+

    SMWS Tasting Notes
    Colour: Golden sheen
    Flavour: Young & Spritely

The nose hinted at paint and glue – water shifted this to
fresh linen and warm photocopies; we didn’t find that in the taste. The rest of
the nose had herbal, grassy notes (hay, thyme, cucumber) and fruity sweetness
(brandy snaps, orange zest, peach stones, golden syrup, chilli marmalade). The
palate had a pile-driver punch of spirity heat (even with water) but after a
couple of sips we learned to take it on the chin – nice grassy, cereal notes,
including popcorn, riverbank reeds and mint, then more of that fruity sweetness
(mandarin, rhubarb and pineapple, with spun sugar, vanilla and pink Chewits).

Drinking Tip: A good one to sip while watching action
    movies.
