Quite an intense mixture of sweet ash with a little bit of fresh fruit. The Re-Refill Casks (?) are really quite discreet. Would have been interesting to have that from some more active ones. Dilution helps with mouthfeel and fruitiness, but it also brings out this soapy note which I find unpleasant. Nice to taste but nothing to spend my money on...
    • Nose
Neat: a bit of alcohol in the nose, cold smoke, malt sugar, light fruits (melon and gooseberry), tart. Some spices (clove, allspice), peppery. Wooden sweetness. Water gives more fruit (pear and plum), and some vanilla pudding
    • Taste
A mix of sweet and dry. Wood tannins. The alcohol is noticeable but not in a bad way. Ashy smoke, vanilla and more spices. Dilution brings out more sweetness, fresh fruit, overall warming. Great velvety moutfeel. At the end there are some sad violets which turn things in a soapy direction that i don't find that pleasant.
    • Finish
Long and warming with lots of ash and condensate. Finishing with some bitter walnuts

A Caol Ila where sherry is little felt. The whole remains very nice and very well done 87 + / 88-
    • Nose
well iodized, lemony, fresh. Smoke, green apple and ashes. Made young enough
    • Taste
Rather greedy, oily, sensation of icing sugar, ashes, smoke, iodine. Alcohol very well integrated. Slight notes of plum brandy (maybe sherry) Water brings nothing, if not bitterness
    • Finish
Long, on the ashes, iodine, plum brandy, icing sugar. Peppery touch

Blind tasting of a sample. Thought it was a Ledaig. It's OK, but overpriced.
    • Nose
Sweet tangerine, peat, pepper, caramel and cardboard. With water less sweet: More citrus and the peat turns more vegetal.
    • Taste
      Peat, orange, pepper and caramel.
    • Finish
Peat, dark chocolate, orange, lemon and caramel.
