What shoud that?! Did a bottle of Springbank fall into a sherry barrel here ?! If I want to drink something like this, I buy a bottle of sherry, a jar of straw and a blender ....
    • Nose
With Whisky and especially with Springbank the whole thing has little to do here. It just smells like dark, sweet sherry. Add a little spice. The typical, dirty Springeraroma is missing here completely.
    • Taste
No, but this is nothing but high-proof sherry ..
    • Finish
      see taste.

      Soft start
      sherry notes
quickly very dry in the mouth
Herbs and medicine in the cheeks, on the palate
      slightly pungent and bitter
      puts her mouth dry :(

      oak-heavy in the negative sense
after a while sherry with malt flavor comes

I would like to drink a drink of water now

Sherry kills Springbank .. As simple as that :-(
Not bad but obviously no killer!

  4. dRambo scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Tasty - but the distillery or the long maturation play almost no role here - the malt drowns in delicious sherry, from the whisky is not much over - from the age just the absence of alcoholic burning
    • Nose
dark massive sherry nose, very ripe red berries - especially blackberry, fine acidity, very intense fruity
    • Taste
Sherry, Mon Cherie, concentrated cherry juice, dry on the palate with a pleasant smell of sulfur, dirty but smooth, leather, tobacco, everything you would expect from a sherry, alcohol very well integrated, very good without water drinkable
    • Finish
long, fruity, warm, a great deal of chocolate and fruit, delicate woody note, no bitterness

Sweet dates palate, engine oil nose, long tea finish, I just love this style! The integration between sherry and peat is good here in my opinion!
    • Nose
Very dark, thick and oily, dates and leather, engine oil is present, dates, dried dates, small sweet honey dates.
    • Taste
Again, match the noses, more dates and leather, very sweet.
    • Finish
Long and dusty, great black tea

  6. checkpointuk scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Dark cherries of the finest quality combined with a lot of soft liqueur, floor wax, furniture polish, wood, balsamic, orange and honey. The rather subtle spice combines perfectly with full nut and sticky jam flavors, as well as a good portion of leather - very nice!
Starting soft and spicy. The salt content is right. The structure is mouth-filling and very cherry and wood-supported. With tobacco, balsamic, nuts, jam, orange peel, smoke and wet coal, as well as dry cardboard, results in an appealing unit.
Long - dark and rather oppressive. Sweet-woody floor wax, extremely dry and bitter. With orange juice and peppermint, it gets a little fresher and invigorating. Caramel and honey, liquorice and smoke stick to the tongue

    Completely different.
    • Nose
Rarely seen such a dark whisky. Almost like black coffee. The sherry is probably so intense that you can hardly smell it anymore. Rather old, damp wood. The aroma comes over time. Fruity, creamy.
    • Taste
Wow, what a start. Violent, fruity. I do not like Springbank. Rather an old Glendronach. But I like this intense taste.
    • Finish
      Long and sweet

A terrific drop, nice sherry bomb, exactly my collar width, something for wood fans.
For the issue price (129 EUR) a great PLV (therefore 90 points for the price), after a short time unfortunately stylized to Hypeflasche and therefore at unrealistic prices in the market.
    • Nose
Sherry, chocolate raisins, ripe blackberries, Maggi seasoning, leather, old wardrobe, which has just been treated with furniture polish, soaked fruit from the rum pot
    • Taste
Plum compote, sherry, Armagnac, dark chocolate, tobacco, very woody and astringent - with water it is sweeter and more fruity, I mean the saltiness of the Spring Bank still to divine
    • Finish
very long - dry sherry, woody, bitter
