Tasted during a blind tasting competition in May/June 2016.
    • Nose
Sherry-ish, but with something moldy… hmmm, leather, tobacco? Citrusy tones too (some orange sweetness and grapefruit bitterness). Then changing again to white chocolate and vanilla. It keeps changing.
    • Taste
Wow, what the hell is this? Sweet & sour at the same time. Loads of pepper, nuttiness (almonds), but dark red fruit and dark chocolate prevail at the end. I must say there is some sulphury off-note.
    • Finish
The dark fruit and chocolate keep lingering, together with the sulphur - which I don't like very much.

This is a very good final whisky of the blind tasting competition (Whisky ProefOlympics 2016). It’s quite an expressive dram that becomes more elegant after some aeration time in your glass. This dram does not play well with water as this brings out very malty tones and some strange vegetable tones that are not all that pleasant. But without water this is a nice and intense dram.
All in all a nice and powerful Inchgower expression.

    Tasted blind during PO2016
    • Nose
A rich, fresh and intense whisky with aromas of caramel, honey, toffee, hay, oak, cedar wood, floral tones, white pepper, ginger, red apple, apple juice, pear, banana peel, grapes, hint of leather, coffee, chocolate, allspice, subtle dried fruits, cherries, peach, citrus (tangerine peel, orange), vanilla, almond, subtle solvent tone and more oak.
    • Taste
A powerful, rich, full and spicy whisky with aromas of pepper, caramel, winegums, toffee, fudge, custard, earthy tones, cedar wood, lemon juice, lemon peel, green apple, apple sauce, pear, melon, grapes, apricots, hint of leather, milk chocolate, mocha, licorice root, star anise, cinnamon, nutmeg, grapefruit, marzipan, herbal tones, subtle dried fruits, tannins and oak.
    • Finish
A medium to long and slightly drying finish with aromas of honey, tannins, aniseeds, fennel, licorice root, dried fruit, green apple, milk chocolate, mocha, almonds and oak.

    • Nose
Rubber, metal, cherry, chocolate, peach, orange, mandarin, apple, coffee, raisins and honey.
    • Taste
Fruitcake, dried fruit, toffee, chocolate, honey, sweetened sweets, apple, orange peel, pepper and garden herbs
    • Finish
Medium, dry, spicy, coffee and honey

  7. KayMeertens scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

87 points without water, but it doesn't 'swim' well.
    • Nose
Apple & raspberry juice. Almond. Slightly dirty toffee. A little banana and vanilla. Later apricot. With water: Malt, cucumber and tomato ketchup...
    • Taste
Raspberry, apple, marzipan. Also here adding water is not really beneficial. It adds dough-like maltiness and a salty fish taste.
    • Finish
Apple, almond, caramel and a little liquorice.
