    Tasting Notes by Adelphi;

    1 of only 255 bottles from cask no. 48512
    From an active refill American oak ex-Sherry hogshead, this is deep amber (almost “Irn Bru” like), with excellent beading suggesting a rich mouth texture. On the nose, butterscotch, Werther’s Originals, Crunchie bars and glacé cherries. The sherry notes begin to appear, then sweetie shops with macaroons and toffee rum and raisin ice cream. Initially quite tart to taste, very quickly becoming both sweet and spicy: liquorice, caramelised burnt sugar, tarte tatin, Sbrisolona (crumbly Italian nut cake) and a bag of almonds. Bitter cherries and bread and butter pudding also in the development, with spiced rum, ginger powder, baked apples and bitter chocolate. A mellow finish of soft chocolate and the slightest hint of Hoi Sin.

    Big, Powerful, sweet and fruity. A very "clean" sherry cask which was bottled at the optimal time. An wonderful example of how good Longmorn can be
    • Nose
      Big sherry on arrival, but its certainly not a European oak. It has a little extra sweetness to it. First notes are of sticky raisins, chocolate, toffee and butterscotch. Underneath those sweet layers is a mountain of oranges waiting to be discovered. Hints of cherries and grapes also coming through.
    • Taste
      Has a lot of creaminess which you wouldn't get from a European cask. Big, powerful and full bodied. Delivery has almonds, pecans and danish pastries. Sweet and fruity with a nice sprinkling of chocolate.
    • Finish
      Very very long, lots of oranges dipped in chocolate. Warm cinnamon spice and a grapey cherry sweetness which keeps you salivating.

    the color is amazing, but very likely it is colored with caramel. Btl does not state natural color.
    • Nose
      Nutty, peanut sauce, "fa shang hu" (cantonese desert), macaroons, mint, dry dates
    • Taste
      light body with some oiliness to it. Figs, apricot, caramel, hints of red apples (longmorn!), red fruits - mainly blackcurrent
    • Finish
      Medium finish with some bitter nuts in the front and then the sweet dark chocolate, spiciness accompanied with some dry aftertaste
