A lovely, complex, sophisticated malt. Rich and intense,
well-structured. Very dry on the palate but opens nicely with a few
drops of water releasing its lovely sweet, fruity and charming
character. Glengoyne and sherry cask maturation - you can't go wrong
    with that.

    • Nose
The nose starts off with delicate sweet notes of dates, raisins, caramel
and cherries. Lovely fruity and perfumy. Dark chocolate emerges,
lingering with a touch of leather, tobacco leaves and black tea in the
    • Taste
Intensively sweet at first with Demerara sugar and toffee, followed by
lovely fruity flavours of cherries, figs and raisins. Becomes
significantly dry soon, mainly due to the (Oloroso?) sherry,
complemented by a pleasant spiciness of oak, cinnamon and subtle black
pepper. Warming with a lingering nuttiness, lovely mixed with dry notes
of dark chocolate and cloves towards the finish.
    • Finish
The finish is long with subtle sweet plum jam and raisins. Becomes very
dry indeed with a lovely mixture of oak, walnuts, dark chocolate and
sherry. Hints of leather and tobacco leaves nicely linger on the tail.

WITH WATER: Deliciously sweet and fruity on the nose with a splash of
water. There's more sweet sherry coming through as well. Significantly
sweet on the palate. While water significantly tames the dryness,
there's is still a lovely and warming spiciness remaining on the tongue.
Fruity and even juicy with delicious plum jam. The finish is long,
lingering sweet and lovely creamy with caramel, baked apples, walnuts
and lots of sweet sherry. Gorgeous!

    that's full throttle sherry whisky!

Surprisingly grown up for such a young Glengoyne, but even more time in the barrel would have been too much.

Musty sweetness, almost 60 percent, light and airy, but very present in the mouth.

No daily dram, more like extreme comparisons

Popopopopo! Wine, creme de cassis. What a passion. More malt with a little water. In the mouth, juicy, splendid, spicy. Sweet well, but not too much. Alcohol perfectly integrated. Dynamics, relief. The feast of red fruit, without the oxidized prune-like side that one can have for older expressions. Final on the ... grape juice!

    Enthusiasm 5/5

Greatly selected barrel, topping for 10 years, the sherry is fully pure, but the whisky still does not feel drained to zugkleistert, the bar strength brings intensity, the alcohol scratching and biting but not a bit, well involved.
The 115 € beats the distillery self-bottling, but honestly, with many available for the money, usually older standard bottlings, he can keep up.
    • Nose
dry, intense sherry bomb, sweetish-spicy, lots of dark chocolate, cocoa, black cherry, a hint of furniture polish, leather
    • Taste
very intense and full-bodied, yet burn the 60% no piece, massive dark chocolate, Sachertorte, Storck giants, something dark-fruity - blackberry syrup ?, old, polished wood, tobacco ... fat, but still velvety-soft
    • Finish
long, chocolate, walnut, pepper, anything else spicy ... nutmeg, and another round of grandma memory furniture polish
