- A Glenmorangie Spitzenmalt - noble bottle, great packaging, proud price, but also a good quality!
intense, old oak, ripe dark fruits, sherry, spices, maple syrup;
fruity, lively onset, soft, mild, spices (cinnamon), oak, cocoa, wooden, well balanced;
long finish, in the end ginger, dark chocolate;
- Tasting Notes:
- A whisky praline! - 09.04.2016
Full sweet aroma, fruity, cream puffs soaked in rum, ripe plums, raisins, figs, dates, candied fruit, toffee, grape nut chocolate
A never-ending sweetness, nougat, brown sugar or residual sugar in an espresso cup, roasted aromas, very mild, soft and gentle
- Tasting Notes from TheWhiskyStore:
Aroma: Cocoa, dark fruits, ginger and some cinnamon. Above all, there is a fine hint of sherry. Taste: A wonderful balance of mild sweetness and strong spices. In the background are coffee and cinnamon. Finish: Medium length with citrus and a touch of mint.
Type of barrel: Ripening in fresh white oak barrels and ripening in Oloroso sherry and other strong wine barrels. Regional barley was used for the Single Malt Signet. The barley malt was heavily roasted, the result is the so-called 'high roasted chocolate malt'. The bottling includes very rare malts, partly the oldest barrels of the distillery were used.
Roasted coffee, nougat, acidity, sweet sherry and pleasant woody aromas
Begins something gruff and lax. Becomes very watery. Reminiscent of an Irish Pure Pot Still Whisky. Finally, creamy toffee notes and glowing sherry
The finish is mild, creamy and rather short
