    Everything is beautiful and balanced, but does not evoke vivid emotions, perhaps the degree played a minus to this whisky

      N: pungente e medicinale sulle prime; l’affumicatura si sente, ma non è totalizzante. Dolce, su cioccolato e miele. Con poche gocce d’acqua, si apre un po’ ed esce un legno caldo (legna al sole…), la vaniglia ed anche un’astratta nota di frutta matura (pesca?). Tabacco dolce, cuoio; un agrume sullo sfondo; tamarindo. Il marino e la torbatura tipici degli Ardbeg contornano il tutto senza rubare la scena.

      P: woah. Forte la torba, forte il sale, c’è anche un qualcosa di pepato. Caffè. Dopo un po’ si ammorbidisce al palato, è quasi cremoso; ricorda tanto l’impasto delle torte, burro caldo zuccherato e vanillina. Note di limone; miele. Buonissimo.

      F: molto persistente, tutto sulle note della torba e dell’affumicato; anche un po’ erboso, in verità, e acido (agrumi, ma meglio definiti rispetto a prima: arancia, anzi: scorze d’arancia bruciata). Cioccolato. Come spesso capita con gli Ardbeg, ti lascia le labbra salate.

      “Buttery smoke” (?), hazelnut, honey and citrus. 
    • Taste
      Peat, some butter, orange, honey and grass. 
    • Finish
      Finishes of in with peaty orange notes. Nice and elegant.
