- Balanced with interwoven aromatic and fruity notes, unobtrusive sherry nose, oak, vanilla
Slightly spicy, sweetish-tart with notes of fruit, spices, and delicate oak notes in the finish.
Herb-sweet with oak spices, soft, dry
Finally, sweetish with hints of sherry and soft oak finish.
- Give this Liddesdal aka Bunnahabhain some time. De nose promises a lovely taste wich is more then true. Nice stuff!
Sherry, slightly smokey, fruit, stuffy/earthy, devellops in to lovely dried fruit notes
Gentle, fruity, spicy, spiced cocoa, round and slightly acid
Warming with woodspices (some cloves), spiced fruit
- This is an excellent dram! The sherry isn't overpowering at all. This
helps to underline the fruitiness and sweetness of this beauty and to
balance them with a very pleasant spiciness in a perfect manner. One of
the best Bunnahabhain whiskies over 20 years old I've had in the glass. A
dream malt at very reasonable price.
I thank Joe Seidel from Joe's Malt Shop for the sample!
A pleasant fruity start on the nose with ripe apples, yellow cherries
mixed with pink grapefruit. Discreet vanilla sweetness and subtle
Demerara sugar arrive with lingering cinnamon, cloves and gentle oak.
Very complex and inebriant!
Very fruity on the palate with a delicious mix of ripe apples, yellow
pears, carambola, and slightly bitter notes of pink grapefruit and
orange peel. Gently austere and prickling sweet, like bitter lemon
drink, accompanied by a very nice and warming spiciness of cinnamon,
cloves, ginger, white pepper and a touch of oak. Smooth and delicate!
The finish is long and sticky sweet with yellow plum jam, and acacia
honey. Becomes slightly bitter with notes of pink grapefruit and orange
peel, followed by a lingering warmth of cinnamon and spiced oak.
WITH WATER: Clean and fresh on the nose with a splash of water. Oak
comes to the fore with a subtle smokiness in the back. Fruity and sweet
on the palate with significantly more spiciness. Warm and intense. The
finish is a bit shorter with water. Delicate fruit and honey sweetness
linger towards the spicy end.
