Full sweet & dark caramel, orange zest lightly burnt, apricot jam with some ginger in it, Earl Gray tea, cherries, plums, rosemary, hints of salt, wonderfully balanced, Christstollen, cinnamon, walnut, maple syrup
    • Taste

Not the maritime character that the name suggest but rather a very well balanced fruit bomb with loads of fresh berries and very well aged. The alternation between the fresh fruits/berries and the well matured more antique flavours is rather lovely. This dram benefits from some aeration time and can take a few drops of water (be careful though!).

All in all a great Bunna that I can wholeheartedly recommend.

Join all the previous reviews, but ... I supplement with: banana! Beautiful dram!

Before I drank, I thought I would get a Black Forest, but I got a herbal chestnut brownie, but it's not too bad.
    • Nose
Shirley bomb, caramel, red berry jam, maple syrup, ginger sugar, raisins, roasted rosemary, cinnamon, sea salt cheese, cream, butter, nuts, chestnut brownies.
First, it was a Shirley bomb, followed by a lot of baked spices, and finally a chestnut brownie appeared.
    • Taste
Ginger licorice sugar, light herbal bitterness contrasts the sweetness of malt and honey, a little burning sensation brought by pepper and oak, dead dark fruits, old leather, tobacco, cocoa powder.
    • Finish
The medium long, slightly bitter Chinese herbal soup, cocoa, has lost its vitality in oak.

Good whisky for the quiet evenings, enjoying some good reading. It's very solid, not jumping out of bounds but delivering what you expect.
    • Nose
Calm and quiet nose feel. Salted caramel strikes first. It's even a bit creamy (butter) and nutty (almond). Then, (dried) fruitiness of plum, raisin, and blackcurrant reveal themselves. Eucalyptus, and a hint of leather and tobacco complement the nose.
    • Taste
Hotter than expected, with a kick from the pepper (can't be the alcohol, can it?) Then: dried fruit, orange zest and juice, raisin and prunes, fresh almonds, grass.
    • Finish
Slightly tannic, on pepper and ginger powder, orange zest, old books and hay.
