For a Laphroaig, incredibly good and round with a wonderful finish.

Clear Laphroaig DNA. Medicinal smoke paired with tropical sweetness. Brilliant. Very smoke in the background. Tarry. Iodine.

    • Nose
Asphalt road in midsummer, including appropriately heated car tires. This is based on an aromatically appealing base of toasted bread that has been roasted to the point. Vanilla (sauce) and only very delicate wood aromas. Then it's back to the pharmacy and a warm peat fire. A bit of citrus fruit flashes through rather cautiously in places, but it was cut some time ago and a bit dried out. Then it gets grainy again - Weetabix. With more time and air, the citrus fruit develops into a ripe pineapple (delicious!) And I still find a few blanched almonds.
    • Taste
Medical-phenolic, of course. But not brutally overwhelming, but a bit dignified and quite elegant. Citrus-refreshing, yet only minimally acidic pineapple, which is nicely balanced with toasty oak and warm-sweet vanilla aromas.
    • Finish
Fresh, sweet and slightly creamy, plus warm tar and again nice, vanilla, soft oak. This results in a pleasing overall picture. Only slightly warming, with a fresh citrus aroma (I'll stick with lemon and ripe pineapple *) this feeling is slowed down a bit. In the end, there is a good load of iodine and gauze as well as a slightly astringent mouthfeel.

Subtle, fine, playful. Kumquats, fine vanilla, smoked bacon, iodine and sea breeze. Then also pickpocket, ink, passion fruit. Elegant finesse. Some ashes. Mouth:
Silky, full, sweet. Medico-phenolic notes, ash, iodine and also wonderfully fruity notes (mango, peach, ripe apples, oranges). Ink and ashes. Balanced and honed.
Phenolisch and wonderfully fruity, dense, intense, harmonious. Long, elegant. Rolling in waves and waves ...
Very tame, elegant, and honed for a Laphi. Reminiscent of the Berry's for TWE, # 46 in its kind.
Definitely not for people who prefer brute modern Laphis a'la CS Batch 008, but rather elegant-complex malts.

  6. Schollus scored this whisky 91 points Expert Senior

Incredibly horny Laffi, maritime character but very delicate and elegant with tropical notes as a reward on the finish! A very positive surprise! Unfortunately too expensive ...
