  1. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

"Simple" and clearly structured. I am surprised how intense 11.1 ppm can be. The malt is very sweet, which is surprising, the peat is very clean. Nice floral and citrusy. There is nothing wrong with that. Nice whisky.
    • Nose
sweet sugary, slightly floral, and also beautiful peaty, grassy, citrus.
    • Taste
very sweet, citrus, slightly ashy peat smoke that dries out over time. The sweetness is good against it.
    • Finish
Citrus, still very sweet, nice peat smoke, clean, minimally dry in the background.

Young, too young whisky, potato-earth tones only for fans...

This is very simple but great.

N: Ripe fresh fruits, smoke, caramel wood and vanilla. Earty peat. (85)

P: Pears and apples with vanilla saucke and oak. Peat coming through at the back of the palate. (85)

F: Medium with peaty notes and oak. (85)

Not bad. But IMHO taste in comparison. Taste is not so bad by itself but after sharp and bitter finish comes. After that notes light notes of freshness which comes with first sips disappear.
    • Nose
      87 87
      Honey, fresh fruits, sweet citruses.
    • Taste

Freshness, vanilla, sweet barley malt wrapped into peaty smoke.
    • Finish
      83 83
Bright and strong with floral and citric notes with light elements of peaty smoke.

The aroma masks into sweetness, but slowly develops in taste and shows its other face with light smoke. Pleasantly drinkable matter. Rather, I won't buy the whole bottle.
    • Nose
Scented sweetness, chocolate, oranges. Some candies. Bananas, vanilla. Not intense.
    • Taste
From that sweetness, it turns into smoke. Rubber teddy bears. Lighted. Light smoke.
    • Finish
      Wood and smoke.

    84. Let stand 10 minutes.
Nose: immediately there is a dryness from a botla, but it takes about 10 minutes to stand ... freshly cut grass, green apple, marshmallow on a fire.
    Taste: light, slightly salty
    Aftertaste: warm, medium duration.

Aromas starts with medicine and iodine notes, and slightly moves to sweet fruits, apples, floral, vanilla and sea salt notes.

Light peat smoke, spices, oak cask and apples on taste.

Long finish starts with spices, and goes with light peat, oak cask dryness, vanilla and apples notes.

I like it! It had good combination on gently peat smoke with perfume, fruits and floral sweetness.

Less peated and more refind than the AnCnoc Cutter. Time to buy another bottle of this.
    • Nose
Very good and nice combination of smoke, honey sweetness and a little vanilla wrapped in an oily thickness. Same light ashy and medicinal touch as in the AnCnoc Cutter. Perhaps this is the typical AnCnoc nose ?
    • Taste
A good mouthfilling body, not too heavy and sweet on the lips. A nice balance between sweetness and spices. Little lemon freshness. A bit of bitterness at the end but nothing disturbing at all.
    • Finish
Good medium finish full of sweetness and a little smoke.

In itself a good whisky, but he could have tolerated more alcohol.
    • Nose
Smoke, burning straw, carnation, citrus, cherry, some caramel
    • Taste
Smoke, burning straw, citrus, clove, caramel,
    • Finish
      Short to medium long, smoky

  24. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

Acts despite 2 ppm (9 / 11,1) more something like a soft-washed version of the Peatlands, which I would then prefer at a similar price.
    • Nose
The smoke is quickly gone or very weak, weaker than the 9-ppm colleagues Peatlands, something smells of pharmacy, honey, green apple and lime
    • Taste
less smoke here than in the Peatlands, and less force, milk chocolate, caramel, a bit of spiciness and a burnt / bitter note, if left in the mouth for a long time
    • Finish
medium, here you notice again the smoke, pepper and some old leather

Chutnalo - whisky is a balanced and interesting combination of fruity lightness and light sourness.
    • Nose
It's not particularly smoky. Prim plays fruit - peaches, lemons and apples. The background is felt earthy peat and a little spice. The smell is delicate and subtle, but the background is very interesting.
    • Taste
Sweet vanilla flavor. Again there are apples, followed by coffee, white chocolate, peat, pepper, and soft woodiness.
    • Finish
In the reverberation the fruit tones disappear and the main prime plays vanilla, coffee, pepper, and lightly smoke - but nothing big.

  29. Torfding scored this whisky 83 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
yellow and ripe (or long-lived when floury) green apples, citrus fruits, young, fresh and peaty (cold smoke with hints of an ashtray)
    • Taste
slightly oily in texture, but thin in flavor, vanilla, caramel, spices, some leather and peat smoke, citrus fruits
    • Finish
medium long, slightly smoky, hay and dry flowers
