I got a new sample of this after a few years. I don't know if it's that the bottle I got the last sample from was fresh when it was poured, or if it was the 30 minutes this one spent in the glass before I had my first sip, but my respect for this whisky just went up by a few notches.
    • Nose
Hartwall apple soda and sour oak. Faint peatiness and mocha, and a bit of old tools. Despite being a Glen Elgin, it's not particularly loud or in your face, but rather subtle and detailed. Cold butter, a bit cough syrup for children (sugar added), and some apples.
    • Taste
The faintest note of sweet coffee. A round, good body with no flaws. Really, it tastes oddly like some kind of a latte with a fair bit of brown sugar and maybe some syrup as well. A smidgen of peat, and some taffy.
    • Finish
Some confection or marmalade sweetness.. Some peat and leather as well. Could be more lasting, but otherwise good.

GLEN ELGIN 1976-2008 32yo "GREEN ELGIN" 40.8% THE WHISKY EXCHANGE Matured in: unknown Cask No.:5443 one of 215 bottles · Fragrance: gorgeous fruity, muscat etc. White grapes are solid, grapefruit, green apple, a little melon, freshness is in front but feeling like ripe peach comes out, there is no unnatural feeling, thin honey, Anyhow fruity aroma · Taste, lingering finish: Very smooth and gentle taste, thick white grapes, low frequency, but initially it is very soft and light impression, but the ripe fruit feeling also spreads from mid stage to the latter half and it becomes surprisingly deep, moist, sweet, There is euphoria, no dislikes and a comfortable reverberation lasts for a relatively long time · Water addition: With some water it will not crumble beyond imagination · Overall rating: Dark white grapes are impressive. Fruity which becomes deeper and more complicated than you imagine from a gentle mouth feel like water, there is no remembrance of other similarities in this lineage. It is gentle and delicate at the beginning, so I think that it is better to drink other malt before drinking if you taste the price. There is also euphoria and it is very delicious. 【Very Good】 http://www.whiskylink.com/?p=6852
