some green notes, some plastic / cowshed, old leather
he'll put the fire on your tongue, pepper, sherry, leather, chocolate sweet bitterness, marzipan on the palate, various herbs, tobacco, - wow

As the second highest vintage in the member edition bottling series, this Sherry bucket is full of power and aroma, which is amazing. Unlike many 18 years of Shirley single barrel, this wine has no heavy bitter base. The aroma of cigar, coffee and chocolate is rich, and the flavor of caramel, milk salt and cheese is interwoven. Full of fruit aroma, and a bit of 70's cloud top style!

Very nice and well done Springbank which has a lot of up and downs. Unfortunately it is unaffordable today :-)

I do not need water for this dram but it does not harm to put some!
    • Nose
      Hay, pepper, sherry, ..

difficult to describe as it is not sweet quite dry but also not bitter. You realise it is Springbank as a lot of hay is in the nose. Unfortunately the sherry cask is only decent which is quite disappointing but suprises on the taste then :-)
    • Taste
The alcohol of 58,9% is carrying a lot of sweetness where I have plum pudding and cherries. Finally there is a lot of sherry influence to taste and the taste is exactly my style!
    • Finish
Medium long finish with a great mix of bitter- and sweetness. The bitterness is more dark chocolate than oak... After some seconds you get this typical Springbank taste of haystack and farm.

Strong, full and powerful. Great mix of the SB spirit with all the earth and seashells tones with the sherry influence.

The only downside IMHO is the finish in which you can feel the spirit battling with the wood and the wood gets a bit too dominant.

    Fantastic dram, very interesting.
    • Nose
That sticky brown craft glue that smells so good. Cacao powder. Black forest cake. Dried oranges. Some leather. Some sherry funk. Toasted oak. New car smell. Rum & Raisin.
    • Taste
Rich wood. More cacao. Dry sherry fruits. Dates. A little ash. Char and Woodspice on the swallow.
    • Finish
Long. Dry wood. Fennel. Anise. Bitter cherry. Dry leaves.
