I once had whiskey at a tasting, then was lucky enough to be able to buy a bottle for a good price. Delicious Blend that I enjoyed a lot.
    • Nose
      89 89
      Vanilla with caramel
    • Taste
      90 90
Caramel is reflected in the taste, creamy, toffee, maple syrup.
    • Finish
      90 90
lingers for a long time. Warm, again the maple syrup with caramel.

This is one of those blends that really knocks it out of the park! Great blend and definitely a good example that blended whisky can be awesome as well.

I don't compare blends and single malts. They are completely different whiskeys. The blend is beautiful.
    • Nose
      90 90
Vanilla, fruity, spice and oak. Not a grain to be found.
    • Taste
      91 91
Again vanilla, fruity (apples), creamy, lots of oak, toffee
    • Finish
      90 90
      Long finish with oak, tasty

Tasted at a Malt Mongers Israel evening

This was quite an enjoyable one. It had a nice sweet woody character to it, with only a slight acetone note indicating the harsher side of the grain components.

    Reviewed in my blog: https://iwriteaboutstuffilike.com/2017/01/21/malt-mongers-israel-aged-blends-night/
    • Nose
Orange cake. Creme brulee. Wood glue. Acetone.
    • Taste
Bitter wood. Burned popcorn. Maple syrup.
    • Finish
Long. Maple syrup. Creme Brulee. Buttered popcorn. Slight lingering acetone.

This is a quality blend. Mature, refined, well balanced and very drinkable. It reminds me of old school blends from the 80s/90s, the time that quality still mattered in cheap whiskies. But this whisky is not cheap. It is 21 years old and would cost you over €100. For that price I would expect a little less glue notes.
    • Nose
This nose offers a subtle pas-de-deux of grain and malt notes. I think the grain aromas are dominant (glue). Through the grain comes a lovely fruitiness of the malts. I smell green apples, pears, also some spices like vanilla (obvious), nutmeg and cinnamon. After some time and nosing the glue combines better with the richer flavours and the nose becomes more balanced.
    • Taste
First impression of the taste is also the grain, but not as dominant as in the beginning of the nose. Again the fruitiness and the warmer spices are present. And some honey. There is oakiness as well. Mouthfeel is truly great and much stronger than with the subtleness of the flavours would be expected.
    • Finish
Quite lingering. Again very subtle and refined. The honey and cinnamon combination stays.

Thick, smooth, gentle. Quite some grain influence, but a pretty good one actually. Bringing nice sweet notes to the fruitiness. Pleasant dram.
    • Nose
      85 85
Fruity and sweet, oranges, wine gums, vanilla, some whiffs of glue. Very gentle scent, no alcohol noticeable.
    • Taste
      86 86
A little power now, sparkling, fruitiness, oranges, vanilla sweetness. Thick structure. Later on some grapefruit bitterness as well.
    • Finish
      86 86
Still some sparkle, more bitter fruitiness, orange zest and grapefruits. A touch of caramel sweetness. Medium long finish.

I tasted this whiskey for the first time during a Tasting. I immediately did my best to score a few bottles of it.

    Delicious complex blend whiskey.
    Caramel, fruit and wood tones.

It’s a very decent blend giving a bit of everything. A textbook example of a middle of the road whisky in my opinion, giving ‘Speyside’ fruits and spices. It does what one can expect. It is certainly not bad but it’s not exciting either. Solid flavors, not a lot of development inside the glass. Tasteful and quite a good balance. The grainy note is definitely there but not very prominent.

i was told by [WG reps] that this contains among other malts, Ladyburn & Inverleven [like WG’s Ghosted Reserve 26yo WB], but with Dumbarton as its base.
N: Rough and ready, gutsy,… yeah that's the dogs proverbials - old style [80’s], no frills, ‘blows the cobwebs away’ whisky.
T: Ok, it's a little,... ‘squashed'. The Dumbarton speaks the loudest. A little rough & ready again and ever so 'vatted'.
F: Yep ok, all true to form.
C: The Ghosted Reserve 26yo contains only Ladyburn and Inverleven. The Òrdha is akin to a Dumbarton, grain led blend, followed by other malts and a little [closed distillery] gold - but maybe only a drop or two, who actually knows? Both are equally fine.

Nose: quite closed, definitely oak (but very pleasant), tropical fruits
Taste: pleasant sweetness, oak again, light acidity, a little bit peppery
Finish: light acidity / bitterness, followed by caramel
Conclusion: a successful blend, excellently presented. Was worth the import from the neighboring country :)

Local Liquorstore tasting by Maxxium Nederland

The nose is quite closed. Light vanilla, tropical fruit. Fine, gentle spices. Later on warmer with some malt and apples. Some apple pie.

Full mouthcoating, but stil very light flavours. mostly fruit and some oak.

Long spicy finish from the oak.

Nice balanced whisky, but a bit to shy and closed for me

Particularly complex whiskey, notes of oak and caramel. Packaging is "tres chique". A very stylish whiskey.
