Mega-concentrated. Opens up tremendously with water.

Absolutley fantastic, very much like the singel vasks from 70's

  5. Glenfarclas1887 scored this whisky 92 points Expert Junior

A wonderful sherry bomb, surprisingly rather little / not sweet at all. The drop looks much older on me, reminds me a little of the old 33y Glendronach, only with more power. Points: 92/100
    • Nose
Intense sherry aroma in the foreground, followed by sweet cherries, dark chocolate, red fruit tea and a pleasant oak note. Wonderfully balanced, barely a trace of alcohol.
    • Taste
Massive sherry, plums, currant, raisins, a little dark gravy, everything sticks to the mouth and throat.
    • Finish
Very long, dry, leather, the oak is noticeable!

A fantastic bottling of 5 Pedro Ximénez Sherry Octaves, each matured for
a minimum of 20 years, selected by Master Distiller Billy Walker! The total
outturn was 371 bottles. Great start, replicating the legendary 1972 bottlings to a certain
    • Nose
aromatic, with raspberry ganache and fig liqueur, hints of eucalyptus
and redcurrant jam. Some Portuguese Ginjinha as well. Takes us back to some of
the best 1972s, nice! Hints of candied ginger and rose pepper.
    • Taste
raisins, figs and cherries, though this time with a sourness of Morello
cherries and oak juice. Ginger, green tea, sappy wood. Mint and leather.
      Tobacco juice and chestnuts.
    • Finish
long, with hints of grapefruit, herbal tea, tobacco and a little mint.
