Whisky Reviews for Speyside Single Malt 1977 TAA

  1. Andytka3 scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

N- Scents of concentrated ultra ripe fruits, warming oat porridge with sweet dark raisins. Quintessential old malt effect, doses of sweet liquorice candy, some herbs infuse treacle that brought out tinge of green element that evolved to beefy meat jus, savoury, as well get greener as it goes on. Evolving around various dried fruits. Prunes and the monk emerged at the tail.

P- Melt on the tongue chocolate brulee, sweet with light tan of smoked meat, quite perfect. But wee bit thin and not develop as much as the aroma, lack some stamina to swim to greatness.

F- Medium, mellow out well with firm body, but with the sweetness leave a void that needing to fill.

Going only on year, region and abv, could this be a bottle share with this? https://www.whiskybase.com/whisky/72316/speyside-region-1977-w-f
