Comments after a mostly finished bottle: Absolutely lovely. If it's been open for less than 2 months it may take up to 45 min after adding some water to put itself together, but after that it'll work itself into prime condition faster. Some 3 teaspoons or a bit more seemed like a good amount for a 2cl dram. It's bliss to hold a whisky like this on the tongue. Complex, well put together palate, no off notes and centered on that joyously loud sherrywood. I don't know what trickery they've done to these casks during storage years but I don't really care either because this kind of wood management I approve way better than toasting cask lids or w/e is this season's NAS trend.

    I had 3250, 54, this one and 444 open successively with quite a bit of overlap and although I really liked each and every one I'd say qualitywise they're 54 > 3273 > 444 > 3250.
    • Nose
Freshly opened bag of raisins, Curiously cognac-y. Coffee with cream? Or sour cream, or warm milk? Spicy and slightly greasy as Glendronach usually is. Red dessert wine.
    • Taste
Red apples, leather, a very good and not overly px body. Medium sweet instead of the resinous and syrupier 3547. The wood here is curious. Sort of tannic but very velvety. It doesn't dig violently into the gums, just sort of hangs around. More like sherry and oak separately rather than the furniture aromas in Glenfarclas. Fresh plums.
    • Finish
A delightfully persistent prune marmalade & wood cocktail that finishes with something faintly herbal like a fresh mint leaf. If you've tried one of these 90pts-ish px single casks you know what to expect.

By far not as dark as cask 3400 for Abbey Whisky, both in colour and taste.
    • Nose
      Toffee, cherry, orange and gingerbread.
    • Taste
Toffee, pepper, cranberry, hazelnut and blueberry. With water quite some orange.
    • Finish
      Chocolate, cherry, toffee and orange.

Coffee, mocha cakes, dark chocolate, rum raisins, typical Glendronach, nicely balanced.

Without time and water its 89 points. But with a tiny drop of water en 45 min in the glass it's easily 91 points.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Classic Pedro Ximénez-style sweet, fruity goodness, with touch of fresh coffee and cocoa.Palate: Full-bodied Sherry notes abound, here. Develops some lighter fruit notes as is develops - not quite as sweet, but very rich.Finish: Oak spices rise on the finish.
