Wow, start - 51%, Breathtaking ... Definitely a Slyrs: oak, malt, raisins, vanilla, the second sip oats, hay and floral aromas on the tongue spread: a warm summer day in the Bavarian Highlands appears before the inner Eye... In the end, a slightly leathery note, not unpleasant, combined with dark chocolate and a hint of bitter almond to a long, intense finish that conjures up minutes on the palate: Sauternes, sherry, port - everything that makes a big malt! It will be interesting to see where this can be opened with some water, in any case you get a lot to discover here for your money:
91 points, certainly with air up - I'm still waiting for a Fläas Bavarian mountain spring water for further exploration!

The many types of sweet wine just don't work together. Add to that this indescribable fruit flavor...

    Color gold

    - good aromatic Slyrs
    - significantly better than the standard
    - for about 50 to 60€ quite high, is it worth it?
=> compared to Scottish whisky probably NO
=> compared to the normal standard of Slyrs
(approx. 15€ surcharge) it is definitely worth it
    • Nose
malty, the higher percentages are noticeable, but not unpleasant, aromatically delicious
    • Taste
      without water: strong malty character, still great to drink neat (I wouldn't have thought of it) toffee, caramel;

mW: is a bit "thinner" but relatively the same in character, I like it better on its own
    • Finish
      short exit ; medium-long aftertaste

The malt is very reminiscent of a fruit schnapps, which - at least in the nose - doesn't really bother me here. The fruity aromas on the nose are really nice. On the tongue, the alcohol is unfortunately too dominant for me, a few more years would have removed this flaw.
    • Nose
The nose is immediately reminiscent of a fruit schnapps. A good fruit schnapps. There are apples and pears, plums and plums and various wild berries. A slightly sour pineapple creates a nice contrast to the otherwise rather fully ripe fruits. In addition, sweet maltiness, light herbal notes and a little vanilla.
    • Taste
If the alcohol was barely noticeable in the nose, it immediately moves forward on the tongue. A strong alcoholic start, followed by notes of caramel, pears, plums and sweet malt. Here alcohol is too dominant for me.
    • Finish
The medium-long finish is strongly reminiscent of a fruit schnapps. Various sweet fruits dominate, along with caramel, a little pepper that disappears quickly, and towards the end of the medium-long finish, a slight note of bitter almond.

Pours medium dark gold. Scent is full, strong wood and herbal, vanilla. Taste is strong, noticably strong alcohol. Medium sweet, oak, some vanilla and a touch of charred barrel profile.

pear, apple - general overripe fruits and with pineapple
    • Taste

bland, not much going on. some vanilla, pear, oak and red wine. vinous mouth. not very impressing.
    • Finish
      79 79
      oak and green apples.

Smell: raisins and other dried fruits, the alcohol pushes forward, sweet malt, subtle oatmeal, a bit of straw, lime, light herbal notes and oak.
Taste: The dried fruits are also present again in the mouth. Intense peppery start, then the grain notes come through again. Citrus fruits, some caramel, nuts and milk chocolate.
Finish: Medium length, nuts and spicy oak.
Conclusion: The whisky shows good beginnings with nice fruit aromas, but it seems a bit unbalanced for my taste, the grain notes are too strong for me and the alcohol is impetuous.

    • Nose
Vanilla; Syrup; a hint of citrus and herbs. Malt and oak. Alcohol not dominant. Smells like fermented fruit
    • Taste
Strong, fruit and shower. Slightly bitter. Slowly a trace of sherry and some barrel comes. The shower goes now slowly leather. For me, but more shower.
    • Finish
Sherry shows up in the finish. Light fruit and a nice cinnamon seasoning from the barrel. Go towards very dark chocolate

    • Taste
Spicy and strong. Chocolate and nuts. Not so voluminous rather straightforward.

I was not sure what it actually smells like. I compare again with the port, which now seems much better than before. But the esteemed 51 smells like alcohol only. And he also tastes that way, after alcohol and nothing else ...
