scbp-6442, a relatively simple and young wine, can be seen in the taste with some care, and the quality is still a benchmark, at least for Futney.
    • Nose
      85 85
Bittern, distilled sulfur, grass, aloe vera, a little sea salt, sweet orange, that's all. 85
    • Taste
      90 90
The taste is not bad, starting with heavy salt, roasted vanilla, maltose, nuts, a little peat, citrus sweetness, high-end sense, clear body, slightly stimulating, young and simple, relatively comfortable. 90
    • Finish
      85 85
Slightly astringent, a little plant bitterness, basically simple, pleasant ending. 85

Very good. But overall i prefer the normal unpeated old pulteneys.
    • Nose
Vanilla. Ginger water. White grapes. Green tea. Lemon. Tart apricot jam on toasted toast. Slightly indicated smoke. Something mineral. Wet grass. Tree bark.
    • Taste
Sugar candy. Coconut milk. Shower rods. Banana. Herbs. Now slightly tingle the oak on the tongue and also brings some tannins. Cinchona bark. Pomegranate. Worn by soft smoke.
    • Finish
Cocoa bean. Citrus-rich Tonic Water. Very lightly smoked oak.

Quite interesting and a great combination of the Brennereicharakters with the smoke. Unfortunately, but completely overpriced.
    • Nose
Deadly smoky nuances, with vanilla, coconut, apricot and mirabelle, as well as a hint of lemon. After a while, the coconut fizzles and becomes fruity and sparkling.
    • Taste
Very sweet, like liquid honey. The lemon is also prominent, as well as some vanilla and light fruits. Minimal is also to feel some oak. But in itself very easy and tasty. In the end, the apple comes through a bit.
    • Finish
Short to medium. The sweetness vanishes and some salt is spread. Similarly, the fruit and the apples are much more prominent than the oak and vanilla. A slight Nussigkeit is now on the palate wide.

Old Pulteney 1989 deserves your time and respect. If you’ve tried OP in the past you’ll come into this dram with expectations – hold those for a few minutes and allow this whisky to take you on its full and intriguing journey. All the anticipated OP notes are here, but their gift wrapped in something somewhat unexpected. Don’t allow your taste buds and preconceptions to focus too much on the peated notes alone, spend some time and dig deeper to associate these into the core characteristics of the OP spirit and you’ll find that the marriage is really rather clever and sophisticated.

N- Thick vanilla custard coated warm bread with citrus, fresh pineapple. Scents of sea soaked wood, sexy perfume-y musky notes. Mango emerged with toffee, floral and field of green grass. Elegant that lasts.

P- Semi-ripe mango, pineapple, sweet balanced with whiff of tartness. Maritime notes with dried flower and nutmeg.

F- Medium-long, tropical fruits, light wood smokes, grassy smokes. Well balanced. — at The Whisky Bar, Kuala Lumpur.

Not quite as spectacular as the 1990 release, but a great dram in its own right, the light peat influence is well complemented by the FF bourbon notes.
    • Nose
Light peat. Small woody fire. Wet stones. Leather. Wax. Straw. Naphthalene. Rich wood. Kiwi. Vanilla pudding. Unripe banana. Honey. Raw tobacco
    • Taste
Gooseberries. Ash. Wax paper. Caramel. Sticky toffee pudding.
    • Finish
Long. Mild peat. Straw. Woodspice. Dust. Dirty oil. Dried fruit.
