Nose: mango, citrus fruits, almonds, a little vanilla Taste: Citrus fruits very balanced Finish: rather short, bitter metal remains. Very elegant whisky. Would be absolutely great, if not there was the bad finish. But still a very good whisky.
[June, 2003] I had this dram during a FoSM club tasting. In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50 - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 80. Please see detailed tasting note below.
N- Milky honey, copper, estery lemon and mandarin orange. After burnt cold log with faintest touch of earthy smokes. P- Fresh and frizzy cherry, milky chocolate and vanilla coming thru with crisp dew. Nutty and good weight on palate. Pleasant and well rounded.
F- Medium length, crisp and clean. Burst of sweet and citric fruits. Leave with a kiss of tart and spicy. — at The Whisky Bar, Kuala Lumpur.
