      dark fruits (raisins, plums, dates), strong spiciness (oak, leather);
    • Taste
      96 96
      strong onset, dark sherry, full fruit, old oak, spicy, honey, nutty, full-bodied, complex;
    • Finish

      long warming finish; intense resonance, a lot of sherry;

    After-tasting after one year. Even if I know him now and do not taste it blind, I find it hard to taste the Springbank. The barrel is already very dominant - which does not make him a bad whisky. I would even rate it one or two points higher now. You just can not expect a classic Springbank.

    Wow. There is a lot in here. Great flavors that I all like, always a new compilation, sometimes one and another flavor stronger. Very beautiful. class
    • Nose
      strong sherry influence, oily, earthy, apricot, plum compote, orange marmalade, slightly bitter and slightly sour with very slight smoke
    • Taste
      Sherry, raisins and above all apricot, plus a large portion of orange marmalade with a fine bitter note, very fruity, then a bit sulphurous and a good portion of draft and a hint of smoke and a little minerality
    • Finish
      The orange marmalade and also the apricots are still there, as well as the hint of smoke

    Good, nice game of heavy sherry, but never slaying, and mineral Springbank
    • Nose
      Alcoholic-fermented cherries, Christmas chocolate with cinnamon, wet earth, then the delicate Springbank smoke. Salt caramel with a mineral-chalky note and fresh wood chips
    • Taste
      Wonderful balance of spice and sweet fruit. Pickled cherries (Amarena), sugary strawberries and overripe mango. Pepper, ginger, dark chocolate chips.
    • Finish
      Dry, slightly black tea with bergamot at the end

    The nose sounds very promising. The taste is then not bad for a jumper, but the typical dirty earthy note I miss a bit. The whisky is well done: no question! But somehow I expected something different. Also it is a little too much sherry from my point of view. The finish moves between medium and long and skillfully plays something back.

    A sweet fruit that can not hide its origin from the sherry barrel. Tastes like a classic.

    • Nose
      This is a sweet fruit nose, heavy and full. Overripe red raisins, dark berries, caramelized sugar. The sweetish-heavy fruit note is firmly established in the nose. And is there a hint of sulfur? No, not. Instead, dark, old leather, dried tobacco leaves, flavored pipe smoke (but no real smoke).
    • Taste
      Sweet and creamy at the beginning. Not too strong, but not too thin. 46%? Roasted orange peel, a lot of honey, vanillin sugar. Hardly any berry fruits. Oak, toffee sweets, milk chocolate, cocoa. Very round thing. The cocoa will become latte over time.
    • Finish
      Medium to short, gets a little thin behind, but retains most of its aromas from the tongue.

    Wow, what a nose ... chocolate, Mon Cherie, paired with the typical sweet bacon and the rusty barrel. More and more cherries, cherry jam with chocolate chips ... I have sniffed forever. In the mouth, the fruits (cherries, sweet and juicy) still explode a lot of chocolate, the fine milk chocolate, some peppered strawberries, ginger pepper. The finish is a slightly sour orange paired with Bitterschoki .... I'm in Heaven ... what an angelipipi

    Decent malt, some leathery notes, a bit of sweetness from the sherry cask. I have troubles with the Springbank basic profile, anyway this is a decent whisky. No great malt however, so when you are asked to spend 150 bucks you want to look for alternatives imho.

    Tasting notes taken from the back label on the bottle.
    • Nose
      The nose has hints of leather with ginger snap cookies.
    • Taste
      The palate has some spiced cloves, subtle smoke, Scottish macaroon bars, with rum soaked raisins.
    • Finish
      The finish is well balanced, with some salty briney notes and a hint of seville orange marmalade.
