Strathclyde 1988-2015, 26 years, 55% alc. Pearls of Scotland Strathclyde 1988-2015, 26 years, 55% alc.
Bottler: Pearls of Scotland
Extension: Bourbon barrel
Region: Lowlands, Scotland
Special feature: Single Grain Whiskey from Glasgow
Nose: banana in cereal, a lot of banana. In addition maple honey, peach and some apricot. These really fruity aromas of shortbread, very mild oak and delicate grasses are complemented.
Palate: Unripe banana, lots of cereals, vanilla and shortbread, here is the age barely felt, from oak no trace. Mild, fruity, creamy, almost summery. Grasses, honey, peach and vanilla pudding.
Finish: Medium length, slightly bitter, fruity and summery, tingling and warming.
Conclusion: rather a whiskey for summer months, not very complex and with silky / bitter Grain flavors.
85/100 points (tasted 2015, approx. 110 €)
