  1. LiquidThoughts scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

If you're into that, that's just the right, full force of Japanese sherry with Akashi-typical notes of spices and buttery bacon, yummy.
    • Nose
Strong sherry punch in the nose, with hint of shoe polish, milk chocolate, dried fruit, kirsch, praline, raisins, dates, cinnamon, clove, slightly dusty dresser
    • Taste
Black cherries with kernel, dried fruit, walnut and dark chocolate, rum-raisins, dates, slightly spicy, licorice, nutmeg, some black pepper, clove, leather chair, bacon
    • Finish
Dry-sweet, warming, praline, coffee, liquorice, nutmeg, long

The first sip tastes better than the next.
    • Nose
      40 40
      Fine sherry and fresh cherries.
    • Taste
      40 40
Fine to medium dry sherry, not so sweet.
    • Finish
      40 40
Not too long, but it lingers in your throat.

  4. Othorion scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

I would have typed on older than 5 years, good balanced sherry whisky but not outstanding, gets 84 points from me
    • Nose
Dried fruit, plums, sherb, cloves, honey, sweet, a hint of vanilla
    • Taste
slightly bitter, some cocoa, powerful and slightly peppery, but undiluted good drinkable, dry and fruity in the mouth
    • Finish
long, warm, coffee notes, bittersweet, spicy

  5. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

The whisky is very round and very balanced. Sherry, except the nose also a good oak cargo. But unfortunately I find it a little challenging because of the straightforwardness compared to his older brothers. Come a little "designed" over. Still good whisky.
    • Nose
Distinct sherry, prunes, cinnamon, cloves. Amazingly little oak. However, he does not smell young either. Very pleasing and sweet, fruity, unfortunately not as dirty as many others, especially older distilleries of the distillery. So almost arbitrary.
    • Taste
strong, because 50%, but pure wonderful drinkable. Sherry, dried fruit and now clear oak. Something bitter.
    • Finish
beautiful, slightly bitter oak note, a sherry and spices.

  6. Torfding scored this whisky 88 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
The sherry is ubiquitous, beside which all other notes are less "intrusive". The dark, wrinkled, drying fruits, vanilla, caramel and a floral note, a touch of clove and perhaps a hint of cinnamon are also clear.
    • Taste
The whisky feels very soft in the mouth. At first, it always seems a little bit flowery-green. Dry sherry, fruits and dried fruits, slightly sour (but pleasant) and slightly bitter.
    • Finish
Long and warm undulating, with a hint of cinnamon on the backside, later on there is something strangely darker that I can not pin down.
