what an extreme, crass and absolutely horny cattle! Bad, big cat!

Nose

oily cleaning rags from the dirtiest workshop in Scotland, the diesel engine next to it is about to explode. Outside the workshop, a suckling pig is being doused with brew, and on the beach a few meters away, an old leather sofa is burning down. Reminds me of the nose of a typical Endzeitfilm. Great!

Taste

Salted, burned Kassler literally jumps on me, someone has expressed his wet cigar in the sauce to. Raspberry jam has also fallen for it. Spicy, hot chilli sauce gives me the rest.

Finish

long, Chinaböller class D, full-bodied, noble dark chocolate with 72% cocoa and filled with cranberries and almonds.

a great dram, very suitable for winter

Nose

It has snowed
a fresh, light breeze blows over
at the christmasmarket
the smoke from the fire basket
the Krakowers on the grill
sweet caramelized almonds
Christmas stollen with raisins

Taste

A bit in the Krakow
Mustard seeds, pepper
Next door ham is smoked
Fresh mulled wine with Christmas spices
and freshly peeled oranges
We want to hit a Christmas tree
The saw teeth glide through the wood
Fresh fir wood, a bit resinous, oily
The needles smell fresh
And the mulled wine is slowly cooling
The mug is sticky, sugary

Finish

The wood of the fir smells in the car
and the smoke from the fire hangs in the clothes
We bought salt liquorice
Later there are some raisins to snack on
Before the evening slowly fades away

Once again a very very good Cask of the 10 year old Ledaig's . I would not say that it is the best one but for sure a very good whisky! Unfortunately I just have this 10cl sample :-)

Nose

Compared to the other casks of the 10 year Ledaig I have less action in the nose and the alcohol is also not perfectly implemented. Behind the smooth smoke I have some barbecue notes, salty bacon and pepper

Taste

And then the taste... simply outstanding! Of course first the alcohol with its spicy note then wood, fire, barbecue, bacon, brown sugar and a lot more which is difficult to describe. Very complex, well done!

Finish

long, salty, some bacon a bit wooden and later comes the smoke and the salt remains. Incredibly nice!

In the nose a bit less active and less smoked bacon and immediate sherry sweetness than recent Ledaigs. Lets taste: a bit more on the dark side, some chocolate and what I would describe as notes on Glendronach-style extremely well balanced sherry. Some wood notes, well integrated. Same league as other recent signatory Ledaigs.
The finish leaves you with a taste that stays with you for a long time, here is the smoked bacon, the sweetness and richness that rewards you.
I was hestitating to score between 90 and 91, considering the price and the excellent folks from the Cutty forum who organized this it is a 91 for me.

One of the best 10 year old Ledaigs in 2015.

Nose

A mix of straw, peat smoke and mocha, caramel, candied grapes, tobacco and milk chocolate. Some Christmas spices here and there.

Taste

Extremely round. Hard to believe that it is 58%. Nutty, smoke, brown sugar, salt and floral notes in the background. Raisins, grape jelly in a complex harmony.

Finish

Long. A pinch of salt. Hazelnuts, smoke, light wood. The sweet chocolate goes over to dark chocolate. The liquid brown sugar trickles down the throat and black tobacco develops at the very end.

Massive sherry, lots of peat and neat sulfur. A pretty board. Salt, oak, leather, tobacco? Everything your heart desires.

(Blind)
Nose: peaty sherry at first sight, pretty peat, smoke, some dry grass, smoked tofu, farm notes too

Palate: fire of wood with herbs of Provence, very pretty! A beautiful intensity.

Tasted blind.

Color: Mahogany

Nose: Peaty sherry, and well done. Powerful but fine peat, newspaper ink, dried apricots, iodine, hydrocarbons, leather, milk chocolate. The set is very clean, even chiseled.

Palate: Beautiful power in the mouth. Alcohol supports the aromas without masking them (± 50%). Peat, fatter than nose, is earthy. Liquorice, gentian, salt, dried apricots, squid ink.

Finish: Very long, peaty and nicely bitter.

Conclusion: Very nice peaty sherry, probably not very old but already full of promise. I really like. Makes me think of young Ledaig recently released.
