  1. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

    Hm, kind of yummy, kind of interesting, but strange flavors compilation ... Chimera might hit it. I like the stable / workshop history, but I would probably go for a young Bunna or Ledaig. The creamy sweetie has something, but does not really fit in here. My idea of Madeira is also not really the course and the 18 years Speyside ... I would probably get something dignified elsewhere. So academically interesting, but no over 100 Euro purchase incentive for me.
    • Nose
      "Hello, Islay!" One may think of the first nose, not directly smoke, more so between horse stable and garage / oily blue man, somehow reminiscent of young, peat Bunnahabhain, but not quite so "snotty", but smoother, gentler, also a little flower cut, green apple, Lime ... with water a bit more nut and Werther's real
    • Taste
      the smoke / stall / oil / away component is almost gone, just an association of salt and floral vase water, instead creamy-sweet (white chocolate / sweetened condensed milk to toffee) with white pepper, lime (rather tart-bitter than sour), watermelon bowl
    • Finish
      long, slightly "peated" (salt, bitter, a little tar), but also the creamy sweetness and the white pepper will last a long time

    who likes it .... can be funny
    • Nose
      directly after pouring without movement: the strongest cowshed after life and exercise: Hello cows! Herbs, and disinfection, everything else is more clue than reality ... cereals,
    • Taste
      Shortly cool then tingling and warming, smoke, cowshed, dark yellow ripe fruit, becoming sweeter, machine oil, vanilla, light wood, getting sweeter, fennel / anise candy, cough syrup, slight bitterness on the back palate
    • Finish
      Coffee bean burnt on the palate, acidity, some smoke, light terpentine with light fruit - long

  3. Okto-Bull scored this whisky 87 points Expert Senior

    Totally unlike any other Madeira whisky I had in the glass. Maybe it's the smoke that does its job as counterpart to the sweetie here. Delicious.
    • Nose
      So first I've got muff. Then maybe a little smoke comes. Quite unlike the other Madeira whiskys. This typical sweetness is more in the background. I'll stop that
    • Taste
      Light smoke and now comes the sweetness. Medium astringent. The alcohol builds up over time. At the end there is something spicy. Delicious.
    • Finish
      Here the smoke comes clearly again. Not quite as sweet as other Madeira whiskys.

    Tasty at the Whisky Festival 2016. Great whisky, very impressed.
    • Nose
      Kiwi, gooseberry, a beautiful fruity scent with decent peat, which adds another dimension to the scent. Rich, layered. I also discovered lemons and menthol. (94 b)
    • Taste
      Hardly fruity, sweetish with a brutal peat. Sweet, graceful on the tongue, adding a little salty smoked meat and gradually taking over domination. (90 b)

  6. Whisky-Fancier scored this whisky 94 points Expert Junior

    Should not have stayed longer in the barrel. Excellent cask management, brought into the bottle at the right moment.
    • Nose
      93 93
      Excellent mix of campfire smoke and sweet grapes, nutmeg barbeque sauce, toffees, vanilla
    • Taste
      95 95
      Strong grape sweetness in the onset, tingling oak, smoke is integrated excellently, light oak tones after some time in the mouth, oily, very complex
    • Finish
      95 95
      Oak, sweetness, smoke remains, complex and balanced, nothing stands out unpleasant, filling the mouth, warming the esophagus

    [Color] dark gold;
    • Nose
      first campfire smoke, sweetness, raisins, grapes, pears;
    • Taste
      Increasing onset, fruity (pears, grapes), sweet (marzipan, honey), light smoke;
    • Finish
      Medium long finish, Madeira and smoke sounding;

  9. Gere scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
      The first sniff is like wet grass or a bit musty very short and then followed by a light smoky note and delicate citrus and honeydew melon
    • Taste
      Sweet, dried fruits, lemon fruit and woody oak cased in light peat smoke
    • Finish
      long and warm stays long sweet until much later a slight bitter oak note is noticeable

  10. larswehmeier scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
      Significant aromatic smoky note, which at the beginning is briefly savory, but then swings towards cold ash and old engine oil. In addition, a very peculiar fruity sweetness that smells like candied apple and sometimes tropical melon. Very special and strange nose, but very exciting.
    • Taste
      Significantly milder and less confusing than the nose. Mild, smoky and sweet he comes to the tongue. Next much smoke, clearly ashy. Somewhat leathery and dry. The sweet fruitiness of the nose is not so obvious on the tongue.
    • Finish
      Long. Soft but intense in taste. A lot of oak.
