Whisky Reviews for Ardmore 1981 GM

- A well balanced ardmore of the old style. Earthy light smokeiness with hints of leather end sherry. Nice floral base spirit. A charming dram.
- Water: I'm not even trying
Conclusion: delicious and very tasty, you can really good wegsüffeln. Overall, but not very complex, but very interesting - especially in comparison to today's Ardmores, which come clearly peatier therefore, while this has only a very slight smoke in the background, which is barely noticeable.
Nose: very fruity with a huge load of apples, neat caramel sweetness, and the peat is virtually imperceptible. Easily growing - perhaps OBF? Would not be surprising after 20 years in the bottle. It is accompanied by light sherry aromas such as dried fruit and hazelnuts, altogether he may be missing a little more alcohol, 43% or 46% would be good to face him.
Taste: creamy mouthfeel, the apple flavors come first with a good dose of sweetness, then the sherry flavors and a good dose of oak take over the scepter. Here, the alcohol content of 40% fits very well.
Finish: clear sweetness with oak and nutshell, only short to medium long overall, slightly dry at the back, some fruit and moist cardboard.
- Not a bad edition aof Ardmore bottled by Gordon & MacPhail.
