- Quite a lot of smoke. Aromatic and greasy. Campfire. The sweetness is only really on the tongue.
- So much going on but all well balanced and integrated. Perfect
companion for a barbecue. A tasty, creamy and smoky Ledaig for a
reasonable price. Gorgeous.
I thank the German independent bottler Best Dram for sample and photo.
Oh yes, this is typical Ledaig. Soft peat with a gentle smoke. Smoked
bacon with hints of salt. Notes of malted barley with prickling iodine
and a touch of spice, black pepper and maybe some juniper. Fine tones of
dried fruit. Well-balanced.
Bold and delicate, medium-bodied and quite rich. Smoke and smoked bacon,
together with fruity sweetness are complimented with charred oak.
Lingering sweet malted barley and fine vanilla convoyed by crisp iodine
and seaweed. Very pleasant.
Medium-length and warm. Sweet creaminess end with prickling black pepper and long-standing smoke.
WITH WATER: Smoke, peat and smoked bacon take a back seat in favour of fruity sweetness and creamy vanilla.
