    Not very good.

Tasted at day 3 of the Usquebaugh Society blind tasting competition 2015.

My (total) guess was a Auchentoshan, 12yo at 50%.
    • Nose
Srong, fuity, fresh, do I smell some peat?
    • Taste
First some motor oil, then sweet, malty, oily. Peat again? Weird.
    • Finish
Malty, slightly drying. Not much more.

A real dud in my book. At first it felt a bit like a springbank but ended as a bad whisky. Full review is here: http://whiskygospel.com/2015/12/08/whisky-review-duncan-taylor-auchindoun-2008-kininvie-7-year-old-blind-tasting-competition-2015-day-3/

Tasted at day 3 of the Usquebaugh Society blind tasting competition 2015.

My guess was a Bladnoch, 11yo at 55%.
    • Nose
flowers and herbs, sweet. Bread, yeasty notes, pineapple juice, a touch of unripe apricots. water brings out a little cardboard.
    • Taste
a very thick body, sweet, sour and floral, little cask influence. Young, some fruity new make notes are coming through, but are mellow. water increase the sourness and add bitterness. not good.
    • Finish
A little bitter and very fresh. Lemon peel.

  5. KayMeertens scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
Fudge, apple and a little peach. With water also citrus instead of the fudge. Reminds me of Ben Nevis.
    • Taste
Toffee, orange, milk chocolate and cookie.
    • Finish
      Toffee, almond and cookie.
