  1. gango4 scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
Slightly alcoholic on the nose, green grapes and weak banana. Some nut. Not less alcoholic with increasing heat.
    • Taste
Strong burning on the whole tongue. Unusually for age and 46%. Floral, bright fruits, the oak soon joins.
    • Finish
Beautiful oak in the aftertaste. Fruit fading. Pretty oak.

    • Taste
Sweet, lots of wild berries, spices, Williams pear, oak
    • Finish

  6. didi1893 scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Wow, what a surprise! The fruity nose makes you hungry for more, the spicy and peppery taste convinces me fully and this finish! Extremely long and intense. The change of flavors is wonderful. A really great malt.
    • Nose
Rich, sparkling amber. Fine sherry with a very fruity note rises in my nose. The alcohol bizzelt despite "only" 46% slightly in the nose. Citrus fruits and some banana mix to a very fruity aroma. A touch of sweet malt is in the air.
    • Taste
Citrus fruits immediately mix with spicy oak flavors. A fine bizzling lays over the tongue and the palate. The intense wood notes are superimposed on the sherry aromas. Again and again fruity sherry flavors come to light. Pepper burns on the palate a true fireworks. Slightly bitter woody notes try to clear the pepper. Another fruit with the taste of coffee grounds.
    • Finish
Slight sharpness makes you wide. The pepper becomes more intense and exudes a long chubby and warm mouthfeel. Again comes spicy oak. The finish is getting longer. After the finish is quite, very slowly on the decline, develops a fine and intense walnut flavor.

A Speysider, 16-18 years, with sherry barrel portion, nice dram, departure I like best.
    • Nose
Blind tasting! Sherry tones, herbs, a lot of citrus aroma, sugar cake, green grapes, a bit floral
    • Taste
stronger than expected, yet sweet, spicy to light pepper
    • Finish
Oak comes through, some nutmeg, nougat, back spice out, good length

  8. NamorX68 scored this whisky 85 points Expert Junior

    Blindverkostung.
    • Nose
sweet and fruity, ripe peaches, apricots, spicy oak.
    • Taste
      fruity, again apricots, apples, oak.
    • Finish
      medium long, slightly dry, espresso.

  9. Falnor scored this whisky 83 points Connoisseur

Quite a 'naked' longmorn. Usually I know them with lots of sherry.  Given it's 23 years old also not a very active bourbon cask, so close to the distillate.
    • Nose
Scent from an old barn. Straw and hay with old dried wood. Getting sweeter.  Sugared porridge. Anise and liquorice
    • Taste
Dried lemons. Barley and biscuits. Herbal and sweet. Anise, Fennel and also a bit of fresh mint.
    • Finish
      Rather elegant and delicate.
