Remarkable how light and fresh this tastes after all these years in the bottle! The nose is quite seductive and clearly shows the oily Mortlach characters. The palate starts of a bit watery but with the second sip thats feeling is gone and the fresh fruits with subtle spices come shining through.
All in all a lovely fresh and young Mortlach from yesteryear.
    • Nose
A fresh, fruity and floral whisky with aromas of pear, apple, pineapple, mango, grass, hay, floral tones (mainly buttercups and sunflowers), butter, old books, new hemp rope, subtle mineral tones, subtle citrus (mainly lemon), malt, grains, honey, dry white wine and a hint of fresh cut pinewood
    • Taste
A fresh, fruity and rich whisky with aromas of apple, grapes, pear, pineapple, berries, hay, honey, grass, olive oil, butter, floral tones, subtle spices (ginger, white pepper), mineral tones, grains, herbal tea, subtle caramel, subtle tannins and subtle pinewood
    • Finish
A relative short and slightly drying finish with aromas of hay, butter, pear, honey, subtle mineral tones, hint of mint, subtle tannins and pinewood.

A very light whisky but I enjoyed it.
    • Nose
White fruits, pear mainly with a little melon and lemon. There is also notes of white wine vinegar.

There are also something like faint onion smells in the mix and some polish.
    • Taste
Very creamy still on white fruits mixed in with double cream and a few lemon sherbet notes.
    • Finish
Not too long on candied sweetness and a little drying.
