  1. holborndrinker scored this whisky 78 points Connoisseur

Tried the re-packaged brand (slightly broader bottle for UK market, but still has 005/003 on front) - starts well before dipping off.
    • Nose
      80 80
Gentle smoke on the nose is the predominant odour.
    • Taste
      78 78
Toffee swiftly followed by a strange bitterness.
    • Finish
      75 75
      Bitter, flinty taste.

  2. HammerHead scored this whisky 79 points Expert Senior

A fairly unique experience for such a cheap and simple blend. Starts off pretty bland and very bitter in taste and finish, but shows a remarkable improvement over time in the glass.
    • Nose
      81 81
Initially some vanilla and white fruitiness, also quite grainy. Very distant peat in the background.
The peat comes more to the front when leaving this dram in the glass for some time.
    • Taste
      79 79
A simple fruity sweetness, a grainy note, vanilla and initially quite some strong wood bitterness. After leaving it alone for 15 to 20 minutes these bitter notes reside significantly.
    • Finish
      78 78
Mild vanilla and very dry wood bitterness. This also resides when giving this dram some extra time.

  4. wisekycourse scored this whisky 75 points Connoisseur

On the nose, light fruity peat and malty sweetness
In the mouth, it's fresh, simple, a very basic blend, but at 43 ° which surprises!
In the finish, sensation of light peat, spices, vanilla, dry smoke.
It's nice as a starter, and a good compromise to initiate the peat without running away!

  5. Heemhoeve did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

in terms of price no crazy whiskey, gives some delicious whiskey tones.
    • Nose
      equally sharp, then limited whiskey
    • Taste
it comes and goes. do not imagine a walhalla of flavors.
    • Finish
light finish, taste stays in the throat for a minute ==> gone

  6. Heemhoeve did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

For a small price it is a great whiskey. do not expect too much from the finish "it comes and goes".
