Speyburn 2004-2015, 10yo, 46% Hepburns Choice Speyburn 2004-2015, 10 years, 46% alc.
Bottler: Hepburn's Choice
Expansion: Refill Sherry Cask
Region: Speyside, Scotland
Nose: Dry and slightly smoky, like long-ago charred wood. In addition, some grassy aromas, hay, moss and damp forest soil, also a hint of candied and slightly sour fruits.
Palate: Still dry, slightly smoky, with caramel and forest honey, citrus (especially tangerines) and peach.
Finish: Medium to long, spicy and creamy at the same time, also creamy sugar beet syrup and some honey, also pepper is included. Later some dry oak wood.
Conclusion: Amazingly round for the age. This light smoke aroma is pleasantly complementary.
85/100 points (tasted 2015)
