Whisky Reviews for Rascally Liquor New Make Malt Spirit

It is also interesting to try a new make (without any barrel influences)
    • Nose
The nose is understandably relatively unspectacular. Softened grain grains and bread dough dominate, the alcohol is barely perceptible and perfectly integrated.
    • Taste
Slightly sprightly and sharpening in the end. Again, almost only cereal flavors are noticeable, gradually the palate fills with chubby heat, the high alcohol content is clearly evident in the taste.
    • Finish
Slightly spicy and bitter, then a little toasted cereal comes to light.

Nice fruity, malty, elegant spirit with lovely estery notes.

    With water :

The nose is much more restrained and the palate is still uber sweet and syrupy.

This is gin clear new make bottled in 2015, I am looking forward to seeing what the 3 year tastes like when bottled in a few months time.

    Fun to try this stuff.
    • Nose
Smells very fruity & creamy, coconut, pineapple, mango,  a few white rum notes, apple.
    • Taste
Very, very creamy and very fruity on peaches, apricot, mango its basically a fruit salad crème brule.
    • Finish
Not as long as I was expecting at 63.5%, syrupy sweet

This is far too creamy at such a young age for me but it will be interesting to see how it ages.

Will do a full tasting note soon.

    A tribute to Robert Burns

N: Clean without being astringent and fruity with melons & pears.
T: Very direct with a little fizzy heat. Water doesn’t touch it at all.
    F: Coppery>metal-y. Full-on until the last.
C: Focused, neutral spirit with three definable stages – not unlike Annandales past.

    Has promise.
