Whisky Reviews for Kilchoman 2010
5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 87.59 points
- Young but beautiful complex
Hints of raspberries, dates, ashiness, gum and subtle leather, complex.
Sweet sherry aromas, smoky, slightly greasy, malty, sourish, salty. Nice complexity.
Medium-rich, nutty, ash and pepper, honey and light bitterness, sour, dryness.
- So really nice, all around.
Baconous smoke, such a really nice, well-hung smoked ham. Seaweed, marine diesel, hot machine oil. Salt. Then surprisingly small chopped wood chips come, quite fresh. Spices, which can not be further explained - too much smoke. Dried dates and figs. Red grapes provide a certain sweetness, but it has quite difficult to prevail against the smoked ham.
Undiluted a very nice board on the tongue ... Directly cold, ashen smoke, still interspersed with ham, but less clear than in the nose. Dry and with a pleasant influence of the wood. Again the red grapes, on the tongue clearer. With blackberries and blackcurrants. Freshly ground coffee beans. Cocoa powder, dark chocolate, toffee cream sweets. Raisins. A salty sea breeze.
Medium long, dry, ashy. The light sweetness of the berries and grapes sounds.
- A really very successful, complex whisky, which always produces new flavors. Kilchoman shows again what a young whisky can do. Chapeau!
It starts with strong aromatic camp fire smoke before raisins, red grapes, cocoa, dark chocolate and sweetness make their way. In the distance, a hint of vanilla is noticeable. The alcohol is wonderfully involved.
It starts surprisingly soft and a pleasant smoke fills the mouth and suddenly "Bääämmmm" explode the aromas in the mouth. There is the "Bensdorp" cocoa from grandma, sweet, raisins, chocolate and some cinnamon.
Ultra long! The campfire smoke clothes the mouth for a long time. The chocolate is noticeable under the smoke, there are grape skins, a slight salty and some ashes, while it remains warming in the mouth and pharynx.
