If you're looking for a sherry bomb, this is it.
    • Nose
Intensely concentrated sherry aromas (dried red fruits galore) and extremely sweet. Lots of vanilla and cotton candy, as well as mocha and espresso notes. There's a whiff of cinnamon, as well as a muted earthiness.
    • Taste
Dark and rich, with chocolate, plums and rum-soaked raisins, as well as a decent spiciness. Think cracked black peppercorns and cloves. Somewhat dry, with a touch of oak.
    • Finish
      Spicy, with subtle chocolate. Long.

    • Nose
Nice sherry nose. At first, heavy, dark fruits dominate. Plum jam. Datteln. Raisins. A very dominant leather note accompanies the fruits. Brown sugar. The alcohol is wonderfully integrated, the malt looks powerful, but elegant. With a little oxygen, the whisky becomes spicier with tobacco and oak. The addition of water opens the malt, it becomes fruity and sweeter. Cherries. Beeswax. Blockmalz.
    • Taste
Strong start, the alcohol is now noticeable. Again dark fruits. Raisins. Datteln. Plums. Some pepper. Cloves. Oak spice.
    • Finish
Long. Spicy and dry finish. Old leather. Oak spice. Furniture polish. Beeswax. Dark chocolate.

This is what you expect from a hand-filled bottling of GlenDronach
single malt. Dark, rich, and beautifully composed - a natural sherry
    character. Although the alcohol
bite is fairly noticeable on the tongue,  this dram is impressive,
lovely complex and well-balanced tolerating a drop of water, or two.
Perfect match as after-dinner or late-night whisky.

    • Nose
The nose starts off with concentrated sherry notes, along with massive
dark fruits - rum soaked raisins, dates and stewed plums. Liquorice with
      sweet Demerara sugar,
cinnamon spice and a whiff of tobacco leaves in the back. The
alcohol is barely noticeable. A gorgeous nose!
    • Taste
Bold and intense on the palate. Now the alcohol comes through rigorous
tickling the tongue. Then a rich and deep mix of sherry flavours
      arrives, lovely accompanied by rum
soaked plums, raisins, caramel and dark chocolate. Spiced oak,
cinnamon, a touch of nutmeg and white pepper linger towards the finish.
    • Finish
The finish is long, sticky sweet and creamy. Raisins and stewed plums
accompanied by walnuts, tobacco leaves, cinnamon and dark chocolate on
      the tail. Yummy!

With water: More lively with a splash of water. The
big sherry notes and sweet fruitiness is a bit tamed while spiced oak
becomes more prominent. Still sweet and fruity on the
palate with sherry, plums and raisins, but also significantly drier
with more oak spice and bitter orange peel. The alcohol bite is
noticeable tamed. The finish is still long, lingering sweet and
creamy with plum compote, dark chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg and oak
      spice.

Conclusion: 89/100 points - "nice young dram". The 2004 hand-filled by Glendronach definitely needs water to be released from the strong alcoholic touch. Then, delicious aromas of dark, ripe fruit open up. After a long time in the air even a little vanilla. Link to the tasting on my blog: http://www.tasting-notes.de/Archive/192
    • Nose
Ripe fruits like plums and raspberries. A pronounced sweetness of raisins. Discreet wine gum in the background. Despite almost 60% barely noticeable alcohol. Something rosemary. Clearly sweeter with water and a little cherries.
    • Taste
Very warm. The alcohol dominates. Hardly sweet. Without water for me no enjoyment. With water still a pronounced alcohol note with little sweetness. Mouth watering. Strong wood notes. Dark chocolate and some licorice. Less fruit than in the nose.
    • Finish
Long woody finish. Pretty dry and watery. Warms the entire mouth to the stomach. Towards the end dark chocolate with about 90% cocoa content. Some licorice.
