Taste:
It is obviously a sweet and sour apple, first you get a waxy mouthfeel, then a muscular attack, a certain acidity shines through now. But it is all so beautifully balanced! Fruity and spicy without being overtly sweet - a great combo in my book.Finish:
Oak and vanilla are lingering for a pretty long time. This must have been an amazing first-fill bourbon cask. But again, the savoury note is not over the top. Certain mineral notes come up as well.
Comment:
An extremely well-balanced, well-put-together Clynelish without any posh attitude, top-notch bourbon cask maturation which yields a spicy, but at all times creamy, waxy and elegant malt. Definitely recommend for those who can appreciate a good Clynelish.
