Once the nose has got used to the smell, less and less comes out of the glass. Despite 18 years there is a lack of depth!?
Taste: just like the nose in the first impression. Very soft and supple. A little more floral notes and pepper (really aromatic white pepper), this pepper note remains in the middle finish with a good malt sweetness and bitter lemon zest. The age and oak are now discreetly revealed.
In the finish, however, there is suddenly only oak. Really nice woody and bitter - for many a bit too much. For me just okay, but there is a lack of variety and length.
Conclusion: really tasty Dalmore with a summery nose and a nice pepper kick in the mouth. For the offered but easily 20 EUR too expensive.
Re-tasted three years later and found to be much better than originally rated. He still has his weaknesses but I upgrade him from 82 to 85!
