Interesting, restrained, closed whisky. I did not have enough fortress. He definitely needs to breathe well to open up. It’s interesting to dig into such a model ...
    • Nose
Initially restrained, slightly closed, with hints of foliage, freshly cut grass, young bark, hazelnuts, caraway seeds and rye bread. Over time, the aroma develops. After 15 minutes, tones of old skin, wool, and stockyard appeared. Good!
    • Taste
On the palate: dominated by malt, green apple, pear. Separately, the background is a cream shade and oak bitterness.
    • Finish
Long enough, pleasantly warming, with a good sweet and sour balance. I feel cream brulee, fresh pastries, vanilla, a little citrus acidity, a little bit of spices and delicate tannins. The finish is cool, with a noble aftertaste of junk!

OK today is Christmas and no one has rated this dram yet. That makes me curious. Oddly enough, many shops have this dram now even though it was bottled 23 years ago. Something has appeared somewhere and for a fair price these days. but you can read the following on finlays:

"Special feature: No information. It is interesting, however, that the labels state Distilled I984, Bottled: I996, but the bottling code printed on the bottle specifies 2015 as the year of bottling with L15. Where was the whisky in the meantime? Lombard Scotch Whisky or Lombard Brands Ltd. was founded in the 1960s when whisky stocks began to be stocked in the distilleries to hold, mature, and fill their own stocks. "

Little after grapes and lemon. But also a sherry butt in old school style? Slightly earthy but also fruity. Very interesting and I like it very much. Has a strong but fine and well balanced smell for 40%. But open a day now ... Machine oil like the old haigs and dimples.

It doesn't really continue in taste. Lemon and ginger and something floral. Is a bit weak but well suited for an opener. No off notes. But I didn't expect it either. It gets better when a little bit. Interesting note comes through, really some machine oil. now after a couple of weeks it is even more complex and even relatively full in taste despite its 40%. even a few notes come through more and more. So I have to correct it upwards again.

There comes fruit and a beautiful wood. Delicious
