- A delicate nose, that could be described as "feminine", a mouth that makes me think rather of a bourbon. And a nice balance
Very delicate with floral notes and fresh fruit. Malt, cereals. During aeration, the nose evolves more on honey and a very light wax. Here, it is clearly not the power that is at the rendezvous but rather the lightness and delicacy.
Nice roundness with toasty notes, very spicy. Very bourbon I find, maybe this side very precise smoke and charcoal still hot. A lot of cereals and malt too.
More lively, less roundness but still this very delicate smoke and an aspect both saline and bitter. Very surprising.
- From official web site:
This whisky was blended with a well-rounded depth and smooth, refined palate in mind. To this end, a soft but luxuriant type of malt was selected as the key ingredient. This delicate balance, achieved by the Nikka Whisky team of blenders, is imbued with mellowness, sweet balmy freshness and smooth drinkability after 17 years of aging. The elegant expansion of its nose and palate is due to the careful harmonizing of strictly selected raw ingredients.
- One of the best Blends i had in my life.
